Brazilian AI founder built a real-time crime risk GPS - and it scales to any city in the world
PRESS RELEASE • FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEBrazilian AI Architect Launches "Anjo da Guarda" - The First Real-Time Crime Risk GPS for Any Street, Route, or Address
Proprietary platform calculates danger levels in under one second - now live for Android, iOS, and browsers - built for global scale
SÃO PAULO, Brazil - June 2026 - Anjo da Guarda (www.anjodaguardaapp.com.br) - Portuguese for "Guardian Angel" - is now live: the first Brazilian application to translate, in real time, the crime risk level of any street, neighborhood, or route into a simple visual score, from green to red. Created by AI architect Johann Almeida, the platform is available as a PWA on the web and as native apps for Android and iOS.
Anjo da Guarda processes a proprietary database of millions of georeferenced criminal records - fed by verified, continuously updated sources - and delivers a precise risk index for any point in São Paulo in under 800 milliseconds. Nothing comparable exists in the Brazilian market. And the architecture was built to go far beyond it.
How It Works
The engine of the app is the Risk Index (RI) and the Safety Index (SI), both on a scale of 0 to 10. The algorithm weights criminal records by category and severity within a 500-meter radius of each point, normalizes the score, and displays it through color-coded LED indicators - from dark green (Very Safe) to bright red (Very Dangerous). The reading is instant. No explanation needed.
The app runs in two modes:
• Real-time monitoring: with location active, the app continuously tracks the user's surroundings, updating the index every 10 seconds or whenever the user moves more than 100 meters.
• Route analysis: the user enters an origin and destination; the app segments the route into 200-meter segments, assigns an individual RI to each, and renders a color-coded polyline on the map. A summary card highlights the most dangerous stretch, average risk, and maximum risk. The report can be exported as PDF or shared via WhatsApp or email.
Privacy is by design: raw location coordinates are processed locally on the device and are never stored on the application's servers.
Technology & Competitive Edge
Built on the Google Maps Platform with high-precision geospatial processing (~150-meter cell resolution), Anjo da Guarda responds in under 800ms on 4G and under 200ms from local cache - fast enough for use while moving.
The core competitive advantage is the quality and exclusivity of the data layer: unlike solutions that rely on crowdsourced reports - prone to bias, delays, and manipulation - Anjo da Guarda runs on a proprietary database of verified records, delivering credibility and traceability to every index displayed. The origin and curation of this database are the platform's central asset and are not publicly disclosed.
Market Opportunity
Urban insecurity is not just a personal problem - it drives billions of dollars in corporate decision-making every year, most of the time without any structured data to back it up. Anjo da Guarda positions itself as geospatial risk intelligence infrastructure across a wide range of industries:
• Real estate: developers and brokers can use the RI to price assets with greater accuracy, justify value differentials between adjacent neighborhoods, and guide buyers with objective data - replacing word-of-mouth security perception with an auditable, traceable index.
• Insurance & reinsurance: the georeferenced risk score enables refined pricing models for residential, auto, and commercial policies at up to 150-meter granularity - far beyond the ZIP code-level tables most actuarial models currently use.
• Retail & franchises: store chains, gas stations, and franchisors can assess the risk profile of new commercial locations before signing leases, reducing losses from incidents, theft, and staff turnover driven by unsafe environments.
• Logistics & delivery: last-mile operators, carriers, and delivery apps can optimize routes not just by time and distance, but by risk exposure - especially relevant for nighttime deliveries and cargo-theft-prone corridors.
• Corporate fleet management: companies with field teams can monitor in real time whether employees are in high-risk zones and trigger safety protocols proactively.
• Fintech & lending: financial institutions can incorporate the RI as an additional variable in geolocated credit models - assessing the operational risk of a business location before extending working capital.
• Property management & HOAs: administrators can justify investments in private security, cameras, and access control with evidence rather than perception.
• Government & urban planning: city halls and public safety agencies can use the API to identify crime clusters and prioritize lighting, infrastructure, and policing interventions.
The roadmap includes expansion to other Brazilian cities and international markets, the launch of proactive alerts when entering risk zones, and the release of a B2B API with multiple layers of recurring revenue.
Partnerships, Licensing & Investment
Anjo da Guarda is open to B2B partnerships and licensing agreements with companies in the following sectors: insurance and reinsurance, real estate development, retail chains and franchises, logistics and delivery operators, corporate fleet managers, fintechs and lending institutions, property management companies, and urban planning and public safety consultancies. Commercial models include API access priced by query volume, white-label platform licensing, and custom geospatial intelligence projects.
What makes Anjo da Guarda particularly compelling for investors is its replicable-by-design architecture: the risk engine was built to be adapted to any city in the world without rebuilding the technology core. São Paulo today. Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Mexico City, or Lagos tomorrow. Every new city added multiplies the user base and network value without proportional development cost.
For investors, this is a rare asset in the Brazilian segtech market: proprietary data layer, exclusive algorithm, B2B2C model with multiple revenue streams, and global expansion potential without dependency on local data partners. Interested parties are invited to contact Johann Almeida directly.
Availability
The app is available free of charge at www.anjodaguardaapp.com.br via browser (PWA) and as native apps for Android and iOS. Version 1.0 covers the city of São Paulo.
About the Founder
Anjo da Guarda was created by Johann Almeida, a São Paulo-based AI architect with over 30 years of IT experience at major corporations and consulting firms. Built from deep inside Brazil's enterprise technology trenches, the app was born from a straightforward conviction: the information that makes a city safer already exists - what was missing was the intelligence to turn it into something anyone could use.

Anjo da Guarda ("Guardian Angel") is a Brazilian urban security intelligence company headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil. Founded in 2026 by AI architect Johann Almeida, the company operates a real-time crime risk platform that calculates a proprietary Risk Index for any street, address, or route in a city - rendering it instantly as a color-coded visual score anyone can read without explanation. The platform is live at www.anjodaguardaapp.com.br and available as a web PWA and native apps for Android and iOS.
Anjo da Guarda was born from a straightforward observation: the data that makes cities safer already exists - publicly recorded, officially verified, geographically mapped - but was never made accessible in a form that ordinary people, businesses, or institutions could act on in real time. Johann Almeida, with over three decades building large-scale enterprise systems for major Brazilian corporations and consultancies, designed the platform to close that gap. The core insight was architectural: if the risk engine was built to be data-source agnostic from day one, a single codebase could eventually serve any city in the world that publishes open crime data. São Paulo was chosen as the proving ground precisely because of its scale and complexity. A system that works there works anywhere. The platform processes a continuously updated proprietary database of millions of georeferenced criminal records, weighted by crime category and severity, and returns a Risk Index - on a scale of 0 to 10 - for any point within a 500-meter radius in under 800 milliseconds. Privacy is embedded in the architecture: raw location coordinates are processed locally on the user's device and never stored on company servers.

The consumer application - free, visual, instant - serves as the public face and user acquisition layer. The intelligence infrastructure beneath it is the commercial asset, made available to enterprises through a B2B API, white-label licensing, and custom geospatial intelligence projects. The company's addressable market spans every industry where location-based risk decisions carry financial consequences:Insurance & reinsurance - the georeferenced Risk Index enables policy pricing at up to 150-meter granularity, replacing the ZIP-code-level actuarial tables that remain the industry standard in Brazil and most of Latin America.Real estate development & brokerage - developers, brokers, and buyers gain an auditable, traceable safety score for any property or neighborhood, replacing the informal word-of-mouth assessments that currently drive billions of dollars in real estate decisions.Logistics & last-mile delivery - carriers and delivery platforms can optimize routes by risk exposure in addition to time and distance, directly reducing losses from cargo theft and driver incidents - a critical variable for nighttime and high-risk corridor operations.Retail & franchise expansion - chains and franchisors can assess the crime risk profile of prospective commercial locations before signing leases, reducing sinister losses and employee turnover driven by unsafe work environments.Corporate fleet & field workforce management - companies with distributed field teams can monitor whether employees are operating in elevated-risk zones in real time and trigger proactive safety protocols.Fintech & credit - financial institutions can incorporate location risk as an additional variable in geolocated credit models, assessing the operational risk of a commercial address before extending working capital or merchant financing.Property management & HOAs - building administrators gain evidence-based justification for investments in private security, surveillance systems, and access control infrastructure.Government & urban planning - municipalities, public safety secretariats, and urban planning consultancies can use the API to identify crime concentration patterns and prioritize interventions in lighting, infrastructure, and policing.
The platform is built on the Google Maps Platform (Maps JS API + Directions API) with geospatial indexing at approximately 150-meter cell resolution via Geohash. Response times run below 800ms on 4G connections and below 200ms from local cache - performance compatible with active use while in motion. The risk engine is fully data-source agnostic: it ingests any georeferenced crime dataset regardless of origin, structure, or country of issue. No core rebuild is required to onboard a new city or jurisdiction.
The company's growth model is geographic and exponential. Every city that publishes open or licensed crime data is a potential market. Every new city onboarded multiplies the user base, the enterprise client base, and the platform's network value - without proportional growth in engineering cost. The roadmap includes expansion across Brazilian municipalities, followed by international cities in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia - regions where urban crime data exists but has never been operationalized at this level of precision or accessibility.
experience at major corporations and consulting firms across Brazil. His career spans large-scale system architecture, data engineering, and applied artificial intelligence. Anjo da Guarda is his first independent venture - a platform built to answer the question every city-dweller asks without realizing it: is it safe to go there?
