MedUX Report

New report reveals that fan connectivity will be determined stadium by stadium, city by city, and operator by operator-not by national network averages.
Miami, FL - June 10, 2026 - As a global leader in mobile network testing, Quality of Experience (QoE) analytics, and telecommunications benchmarking, MedUX [https://medux.com/]continues to strengthen its presence in the United States by helping mobile operators [https://medux.com/solutions/operator-solutions], regulators [https://medux.com/solutions/regulator-solutions], cities, and event stakeholders measure how networks perform from the end user's perspective.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 Trademark approaching, millions of fans across the United States will rely on mobile connectivity for nearly every aspect of their event experience-from accessing digital tickets and navigating transportation to sharing videos, streaming highlights, posting on social media, and staying connected in real time.

To better understand the state of mobile experience ahead of the tournament, MedUX has released its latest U.S. Mobile Experience Report, analyzing Quality of Experience (QoE) across the 11 U.S. host markets and their surrounding stadium areas.

The report provides a baseline view of mobile performance across Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Seattle, while also comparing performance around the venues that will host World Cup matches. The findings reveal a strong overall connectivity foundation across the United States, but also significant differences between cities, operators, and stadium environments.

"The FIFA World Cup 2026 Trademark will be one of the most connected sporting events ever held in the United States, but the fan experience will not be defined by national averages," said Jaime Gonzalez, CMO for MedUX. "It will be defined by what happens when thousands of people simultaneously access tickets, upload videos, stream content, navigate transportation systems, and communicate around stadiums and fan zones."

Among the report's key findings:

* Boston recorded the highest average city-level download speed at approximately 243.6 Mbps.
* Dallas achieved the highest observed 5G active-connection share at approximately 98%.
* Miami delivered the fastest streaming start times and strongest social media loading performance.
* Houston and Philadelphia demonstrated some of the strongest DNS responsiveness indicators.
* Several stadium areas significantly outperformed their host-city baselines, including Levi's Stadium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, NRG Stadium, and MetLife Stadium.

The study also highlights the growing importance of upload performance during large-scale events. While download speed often dominates network discussions, World Cup fans will increasingly generate content rather than simply consume it. Videos, photos, social media stories, live streams, and real-time sharing place significant demands on uplink performance, making upload speed a critical indicator of fan experience readiness.

Another key conclusion challenges a common industry assumption: strong 5G access alone does not guarantee superior Quality of Experience. The analysis found several cases where high 5G connection rates did not necessarily translate into the best overall user experience, reinforcing the importance of evaluating performance through multiple KPIs, including upload speed, latency, DNS responsiveness, streaming performance, and application loading times.

Why the findings matter to mobile operators, regulators, cities, stadium owners, transportation authorities, and event organizers preparing for FIFA World Cup 2026 Trademark

According to MedUX, understanding these differences will become increasingly important as mobile operators, host cities, regulators, transportation authorities, venue operators, and event stakeholders prepare for one of the largest global sporting events ever hosted in North America.

The report evaluates a wide range of indicators-including download and upload speeds, 5G performance, latency, gaming responsiveness, DNS lookup times, social media loading, streaming start times, jitter, and packet loss-providing a comprehensive view of mobile Quality of Experience across host cities and venue areas.

The central message of the analysis is clear: World Cup 2026 connectivity readiness is multidimensional. Success will not be measured solely by network coverage, but by the ability of host cities and stadium environments to consistently deliver the digital experiences that modern fans expect.
