The project, finalized in June following onsite work in May, demonstrates continued investment in automation within the region's growing semiconductor and PCBA industry.
The Malaysian Customer specializes in semiconductor manufacturing and sought to address challenges in dicing and component placement processes. These stages are critical in semiconductor backend operations, where precision is essential to maintain product integrity and support downstream assembly requirements. To meet these needs, the delivered line incorporates three key pieces of equipment: an advanced loader, an automatic laser cutting machine, and a PCBA/IC placement machine.

Engineer Tony from I.C.T led the onsite activities at the Customer's facility. The scope included physical installation of the equipment, alignment and leveling, electrical and software connections, and initial program configuration. Particular attention was given to integrating the machines into the Customer's existing environment, verifying signal communications, and conducting functional tests on representative semiconductor products.

A significant portion of the engagement focused on knowledge transfer. Training sessions covered daily operation of each machine, including loading routines, parameter adjustments, and monitoring during production runs. Maintenance procedures were demonstrated, such as routine cleaning, calibration checks, and basic troubleshooting steps. The training also addressed safety considerations and best practices for electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, which is vital in semiconductor manufacturing to safeguard sensitive electronics.
