ChargePapa Expands V2L Line With New 5kW High-Power EV Discharger Models for U.S. and EU Use
Hong Kong, June 5, 2026ChargePapa's value has never been about hardware in isolation. It comes from how the hardware is specified, selected, and supported for real charging use. Direct access to production is part of that system, but the customer-facing result is broader: clearer product fit, fewer avoidable buying mistakes, and higher-standard EV hardware backed by dependable support.
That same operating logic now extends into the company's latest V2L expansion. ChargePapa has added two new high-power EV discharger models - one for U.S. output use and one for EU output use - built for EV owners who need a more serious vehicle-to-load power path than a standard low-power V2L adapter can provide.
ABOUT THE NEW V2L LINE
The new additions are ChargePapa V2L-US and ChargePapa V2L-EU. Both products are positioned as high-power EV dischargers rather than conventional EV chargers. Their role is to take energy out of a compatible EV battery and convert it into usable AC output for external loads.
This distinction matters because many drivers still treat all V2L products as if they solve the same job. They do not. A smaller V2L adapter, a discharge connector, and a 5kW discharger can all sit under the same broad search language while covering different power expectations, different output environments, and different buyer decisions.
U.S. AND EU OUTPUT PATHS
ChargePapa V2L-US is built for U.S.-style output scenarios and is offered in vehicle-side configurations for NACS or CCS1 input paths. It is designed to provide 120V / 240V AC output for external use cases where market-specific outlet expectations matter.
ChargePapa V2L-EU is built for EU output scenarios with CCS2 vehicle-side input and 230V AC output. It is intended for drivers whose vehicle and load environment follow the European charging and power-export path.
By separating U.S. and EU output logic clearly, ChargePapa is aiming to reduce one of the most common errors in this category: treating connector fit alone as the full buying decision. In practice, vehicle-side input, market output environment, and real load planning all matter.
WHAT 5KW CHANGES
Both new products are framed around a 5kW continuous output class. That moves the conversation beyond casual convenience power and into more demanding portable power scenarios such as selected backup loads, mobile work setups, field use, outdoor support, and stronger off-grid AC use.
The company's position is that buyers should not evaluate these products as just another adapter. A high-power EV discharger belongs in a different category from a small V2L plug because the job is different, the load expectations are different, and the buying criteria are different.
SUPPORT AND PRODUCT SELECTION
ChargePapa says the wider goal is not simply to add more SKUs, but to make the hardware path easier to choose correctly. That includes clearer direction naming, more specific scenario coverage, and support that remains attached to the hardware after delivery.
The company's catalog now spans AC charging adapters, DC fast-charging adapters, extension cables, portable chargers, wallboxes, and V2L discharge products. The addition of V2L-US and V2L-EU expands the discharge side of that system for EV owners whose power-export needs go beyond light-duty accessory use.
