GoldRates.ae [https://goldrates.ae/], a new independent gold price information platform based in Dubai, has launched a website that displays live 22K and 24K gold rates in nine currencies simultaneously. The site is designed for the UAE's large expatriate community, particularly those from India, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Bangladesh, who often buy gold in Dubai as a cultural tradition and investment.
The platform updates prices every 60 seconds from the international gold spot market and converts them into AED, INR, PKR, PHP, BDT, SAR, USD, EUR, and GBP. Users can view rates per gram, per tola, and per kilogram, as well as access historical price charts and a gold value calculator [https://goldrates.ae/gold-price-calculator/].
Background and need
Dubai is a major gold trading hub, with zero VAT on investment gold and prices tied to the international spot market. However, most gold rate websites previously displayed prices only in UAE dirhams, requiring expats to manually calculate costs in their home currencies using outdated exchange rates. GoldRates.ae aims to address this gap by providing real-time multi-currency rates without the need for calculations.
The site has since expanded to 28 pages covering gold rates across all seven UAE emirates. It also includes comparison pages for popular jewellers such as Joyalukkas [https://goldrates.ae/joyalukkas-gold-rate-dubai/index.html] and Malabar Gold, showing how their rates compare to the Dubai Gold Souk.
Key features
One notable feature is the gold bar price calculator, which allows users to enter any weight from 1 gram to 1 kilogram and instantly see the current AED value alongside equivalent amounts in Indian rupees [https://goldrates.ae/gold-price-dubai-inr/] or Pakistani rupees. The site also offers free price alerts via email, including a daily morning rate and target price notifications, such as when 22K gold drops below AED 490 per gram.
GoldRates.ae fetches the international gold spot price (XAU/USD) every 60 seconds, converts it to AED at the UAE's fixed exchange rate of 3.6725, and applies the standard retail dealer premium consistent with the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group published rate. Currency conversions use live mid-market rates. The site is free, requires no registration, and works on any device as a progressive web app.
