Dr. Raphael Nagel (LL.M.) in an interview with eXXpressTV ( (C) Dr. Raphael Nagel (LL.M.))

Munich, June 2, 2026

In a recent interview with the Austrian media portal eXXpress, Dr. Raphael Nagel (LL.M.) shared his views on some of Europe's most pressing challenges. He discussed economic competitiveness, entrepreneurship, rising anti-Semitism, social cohesion, and the need for greater dialogue between different communities.

The in-depth conversation addressed topics that Dr. Nagel has already covered in several of his recent publications, including the books "Why Europe Has Everything and Yet Is Losing: Innovation Without Implementation, Capital Without Impact, and What Europe Must Change Now" and "Anti-Semitism: Origins, Development, and Global Protection Mechanisms."

In the interview, Dr. Nagel argued that Europe continues to possess significant economic strengths, financial resources, and innovation potential, but often fails to translate these advantages into sustainable growth and successful implementation. He pointed to a waning culture of entrepreneurship as well as increasing reluctance to invest in productive economic activities.

In Dr. Nagel's view, innovation alone is not enough. Societies must create the conditions necessary to transform ideas into sustainable businesses, technologies, and economic opportunities. Successful economies promote investment, reward initiative, and foster confidence in the future.

A significant portion of the discussion was devoted to the sharp rise in anti-Semitic incidents in Europe since the events of October 7, 2023. Dr. Nagel expressed concern that hostility toward Jewish communities often extends far beyond political differences and could ultimately endanger fundamental democratic values.

He emphasized that antisemitism rarely affects just a single group. Rather, it is a warning sign of deeper societal divisions that, in the long term, could affect numerous minorities and weaken democratic institutions as a whole.

To counter these developments, Dr. Nagel spoke about Haganah, a newly launched initiative providing practical support to individuals and institutions affected by antisemitic incidents. The initiative offers legal counseling, reporting channels, emotional support, and assistance for people who experience discrimination, harassment, or exclusion due to their religious identity.

Throughout the interview, Dr. Nagel emphasized the importance of education, dialogue, and mutual understanding. Many prejudices, he noted, arise from oversimplified narratives and a lack of knowledge, particularly among younger generations, who often perceive complex geopolitical issues through short-form content and fragmented information.

One of the central themes of the conversation was the importance of exchange between communities and religions. Dr. Nagel pointed to historical and cultural commonalities between Judaism and Islam and advocated for more interaction, cooperation, and mutual understanding to reduce tensions and misunderstandings.

The interview also addressed the economic opportunities that can arise from international cooperation. Drawing on his experiences in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions, Dr. Nagel emphasized the importance of building bridges between societies rather than focusing on existing differences. Innovation, education, the economy, and cultural exchange could create shared interests and perspectives even in difficult political environments.

Looking to the future of Europe, Dr. Nagel called for greater confidence, stronger civic engagement, and a willingness to seriously discuss differing viewpoints. Many of today's challenges require practical solutions, open dialogue, and a long-term commitment to securing prosperity and social cohesion.

At the conclusion of the interview, Dr. Nagel emphasized that respect, communication, and education form the foundation of a healthy society. Understanding different cultures, beliefs, and experiences is not only crucial for combating antisemitism but also for strengthening democratic values throughout Europe.

Munich - May 28, 2026 In his new book, "CAPITAL WITHOUT RETURN," Dr. Raphael Nagel (LL.M.) explains why some of the most successful fortunes in economic history were not built through quick exits, frequent transactions, or short-term market timing, but rather through long-term ownership, operational patience, and disciplined capital structures.
