European Bestseller on Social Anxiety and the Failure of Self-Help Comes to US Readers

A book that has quietly reshaped how Croatian readers think about social anxiety and personal growth is preparing for its English-language release. Stop Fixing Yourself by hypnotherapist Timoteo Crnkovic will launch on Amazon in September 2026, following a sold-out presale in its original market and ongoing distribution through major bookstore chains.

The book's argument runs against the grain of the global self-help industry. Crnkovic maintains that years of reading, journaling, and inner work most often leave people more familiar with their problems rather than free of them. The industry has taught people to observe what is wrong with them. The job of stepping out of it has been left to someone else.

Among the conditions the book examines closely is social anxiety, which Crnkovic treats regularly in his Zagreb practice. He writes about why the conventional advice given to socially anxious people, such as exposure exercises, affirmations, and reframing techniques, often reinforces the very state it tries to remove.
