Nova Strike Game Studio Opens New U.S. Office to Support Independent Developers

The studio is hiring across art, design, and engineering as it ramps up co-development work with indie teams in North America.

The studio works on PC, console, and mobile projects, and offers help across art, design, engineering, and live operations. Most of its work is co-development with indie teams that need extra hands to ship on time, plus some original titles the studio is building on its own.

"Indie teams are doing some of the best work in the industry right now, but they are often two or three people short of what a project actually needs," said Jordan Sutton, Studio Director at Nova Strike. "We slot in where it makes sense. Sometimes that is gameplay programming. Sometimes it is the whole art pipeline. We try to be useful, not loud about it."

The new Austin office is the studio's second location and will focus on partnerships with developers across the U.S. and Canada. The team is hiring for roles in Unreal Engine and Unity development, 3D character art, technical art, and gameplay design.

Sutton said the studio plans to keep its team size deliberate. "We are not trying to be a 500-person shop. The work gets worse when you scale past what one creative direction can hold together. We want to be the studio people call when they want the project to actually be good, not just done."

Nova Strike has worked on projects across action, adventure, simulation, and casual mobile, and has shipped titles on Steam, the major console storefronts, and the iOS and Android stores. The studio is currently working on two unannounced original projects, one of which is expected to be revealed later this year.
