Inspired Media 360 Wins Two Telly Awards for "Blank Canvas Reimagining Corrections" Documentary

The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens and receive entries from leading production companies, television networks, agencies, and independent creators worldwide. This year's competition received more than 13,000 entries globally, recognizing the most innovative and impactful storytelling in media today.

A thought-provoking, real-life story of second chances, societal healing, and a holistic approach to public safety, "Blank Canvas Reimagining Corrections" offers an exclusive look inside the infamous Lumley Unit at Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry's Perryville prison complex for women in Goodyear.

The documentary reveals incarceration in a way audiences rarely see - with art, music, yoga, breath work, and the sound of healing bowls reverberating through D-yard inside the prison. Lumley is home to some of Arizona's most serious offenders, including Jodi Arias, while also serving as the site of a groundbreaking effort to transform corrections under the leadership of ADCRR Director Ryan Thornell.

In a bold move away from a punishment-only model, ADCRR is focused on uncovering and treating the root causes of destructive behaviors, with the goal of breaking cycles of violence and creating healthier individuals, safer communities, and stronger outcomes upon reentry.

In 2024, ADCRR partnered with providers and community organizations to build the first-ever holistic healing studio inside an Arizona state prison. Now open, Art of Our Soul provides classes and programming for both inmates and staff, centered on healing, self-improvement, emotional wellness, and human connection. Early outcomes from the initiative have shown promising improvements in inmate behavior and interactions with officers and fellow inmates.
