Bitcoin Cash "Layla" Update Successfully Unlocks CashVM: BCH L1 DeFi & Quantumroot Vaults
BCH Layla Network Update Unlocks Advanced DeFi and Quantumroot Vaults!
Consisting of four major features; the May 15th, 2026 BCH network upgrade introduces; bounded loops, functions, bitwise operations, and pay-to-script! One standout feature; Quantumroot by lead CHIP author Jason Dreyzehner. This brings post-quantum cryptography to wallets for long term storage of BCH, Cashtokens, and DeFi!
This rollout also brings sophisticated financial primitives directly to one of the world's most scalable, low-fee blockchains, while introducing seamless AI agent and API monetization through Paytaca CLI and the x402 payment protocol. The Cashtoken UTXO design allow transaction-level parallelism, natively on the Bitcoin Cash Layer 1 blockchain. This avoids the global-state bottlenecks of EVM-type alternatives. Even with larger PQ-signatures, BCH transactions are often 100-1000x's cheaper!
CashVM unlocks token/token trading on Cauldron Swap DEX (at https://app.cauldron.quest/tokens) allowing RWA and stablecoin trading pairs on decentralized exchanges. On-Chain central limit order books (CLOB's) will allow perpetual DEX (perp trading). A native perpetual futures platform allowing the leveraged trading of BCH, stablecoins, and other CashTokens assets with funding rate mechanisms, all settled directly on Bitcoin Cash L1. Users can trade tokenized assets with deep liquidity, low slippage, and on-chain settlement.
Prediction Markets: Fully on-chain, non-custodial prediction markets built with CashTokens enable peer-to-peer betting on real-world events, with dynamic odds, liquidity pools, and oracle-based resolution. Alpha testing live now at https://app.bch.guru/#/events
Over-Collateralized USD Stablecoin Loans: Users can deposit BCH (and other approved collateral) to mint USD-pegged stablecoins through over-collateralized positions, with flexible LTV ratios, borrower-set rates, and stability mechanisms.
AI Agent Assistants and API Payments via Paytaca CLI + x402: Paytaca CLI, a powerful command-line interface for the Paytaca non-custodial wallet, now natively supports the x402 HTTP payment protocol. This enables AI agents (such as those using Claude or OpenCode) to autonomously discover, negotiate, and settle micropayments in BCH or CashTokens for API access, data, compute, and digital services. Developers and AI systems can interact programmatically with the BCH ecosystem for seamless, account-free, machine-to-machine commerce-positioning Bitcoin Cash as a leading infrastructure for the agentic economy.
These developments build on live protocols including Cauldron DEX, ParyonUSD, MUSD, BCH Guru, and Paytaca's wallet ecosystem. All applications emphasize self-custody, censorship resistance, minimal fees, and now native integration for autonomous AI agents.
CashTokens transforms Bitcoin Cash into a powerful L1 DeFi platform, while Paytaca CLI with x402 support opens the door to AI-native payments. AI agents can now autonomously pay for APIs and services using BCH - delivering fast, cheap, and truly decentralized financial tools alongside programmable machine-to-machine commerce. This is DeFi and the agent economy done the Bitcoin way.
These features are rolling out now across supported wallets (including Paytaca), explorers, dApps, and CLI tools on Bitcoin Cash mainnet. Developers are invited to build using CashTokens documentation, Paytaca CLI, and x402-BCH implementations.
