Dr. Herbert Bäsch, Chief Financial Officer of inge watertechnologies AG

Dr. Herbert Bäsch, Chief Financial Officer of inge watertechnologies AG

Greifenberg/Ammersee, 20 May 2008 – inge watertechnologies AG, a globally active provider of ultrafiltration technology for water treatment, has appointed Dr. Herbert Bäsch (48) to its Executive Board, effective as of 1 May 2008. In addition to his work as Chief Financial Officer, Dr. Bäsch will also be responsible for Investor Relations, commercial IT, Personnel and Legal Affairs. Wolfgang Distler, the CEO of inge watertechnologies AG, explains this new development: "Viewed against the backdrop of our strong international growth, which we are bolstering with all the relevant structures, and bearing in mind the justifiable information requirements of the venture capital companies that have chosen to invest in us, the appointment of an experienced CFO is the logical next step. Dr. Bäsch is clearly an excellent choice for this role. As well as having an international mindset, he is well-equipped to take a flexible approach to the tasks involved thanks to his previous experience and he is fully aware of how to create efficient structures. He also has extensive experience with capital markets."

Dr. Herbert Bäsch obtained a Doctorate in Economics (Dr.rer.pol.) from the University of Cologne in 1992. Having spent several years working as a division head at Kaufhof Holding AG, Cologne, and VEBA AG, Düsseldorf, as well as holding the post of Commercial Director at Bouygues Telecom, Paris, he was subsequently appointed to the position of CFO at the listed company varetis AG, Munich, in the year 2000. After leaving this company at the end of 2002, Dr. Bäsch worked as a lecturer at universities of applied science while also acting as a business consultant to a number of globally active companies from the mechanical engineering, technology and financial services industries. His last position prior to joining inge watertechnologies AG was as a Board member of the listed company VERBIO AG, where, in his role as CFO, he orchestrated that company's admission to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

About inge watertechnologies AG

The globally active company inge watertechnologies AG, based in Greifenberg am Ammersee, Germany, develops, produces and sells ultrafiltration membranes, modules and racks used in the treatment of drinking water, process water, wastewater and sea water. It is Germany's largest ultrafiltration company and employs more than 60 staff. To handle significant increases in growth in Asia, the company now operates its own sales office in China.

In contrast to conventional water treatment processes, the technology used in inge watertechnologies AG's ultrafiltration modules offers numerous advantages: the modules can be rapidly and easily installed and the membranes are extremely resilient and stable. Even though the initial capital costs are slightly higher, the sustainably cost-effective operating concept enables these costs to be rapidly recouped. Another key advantage lies in improved health and safety: the extremely small-pore filters of the Multibore® membrane developed and patented by inge AG reliably intercept not only particles, but also microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses, thereby providing clean, germ-free water.
