Texas Bar Foundation Selects Trinity Kids, Inc. To Receive Grant for 2026 Royal Family Kids Camps

Trinity Kids Inc. is proud to be the recipient of a $10,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation to support the 2026 Royal Family Kids Camps. 2026 will be the twenty-fifth year for Trinity Kids to provide free trauma-informed summer camps for children aged 6-12 where children get to replace horrible memories of abuse and neglect with positive memories of just being a kid.

Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation's largest charitably-funded bar foundation.

Trinity Kids, Inc. is a non-profit organization, based in Arlington, Texas, that has provided free summer camps and weekend events for abused, neglected and abandoned youth in North Central Texas, since 2002, with the sole purpose of breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect by positively impacting the lives of children affected by family trauma.

The Royal Family Kids Camp's trauma-informed model supports the intent of child protection laws by helping children heal in a safe, structured environment that reinforces stability, dignity, and trust. Each camper is paired with a trained adult mentor and one other camper, ensuring consistent supervision, emotional support, and positive adult interaction. Activities are intentionally designed to nurture self-worth, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships, helping children develop the resilience needed to navigate ongoing legal processes.

By serving survivors of abuse and neglect within the foster care system, the Royal Family Kids Camps advance the spirit and purpose of child welfare law, protecting vulnerable children, reducing the long-term impact of trauma, and supporting outcomes that align with justice, safety, and human dignity. Royal Family Kids Camps enhances advocacy by providing children with experiences that promote healing and behavioral stability, thereby positively influencing placement success, permanency outcomes, and long-term well-being.

Trinity Kids was founded in 2002, as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, EIN 27-0015831, by Mike and Alice Lally after volunteering from 1998 - 2001 at a local Family Kids' Camp. After directing their first camp in 2001, Mike and Alice felt the need to expand the program and involve the community. The name Trinity Kids recognizes the fact that the Trinity River, which links North Central Texas communities together, cuts through neighborhoods of kids that fall victim to abuse, neglect and abandonment every day. Trinity Kids hopes to break the cycle of child abuse by positively impacting the lives of exploited children.

Trinity Kids was founded in order to focus on the growth and development of local children who have suffered from abuse, neglect and abandonment. Trinity Kids creates positive memories in the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned children by offering FREE activities that are designed to provide fun, safe and positive memories. Trinity Kids partners with local social service organizations and their foster families. Trinity Kids provides 2 one-week long overnight camps for 128 children ages 6-11 and also provides weekend events for teenagers focused on building trust with adults.
