Global eInvoicing Accelerates as Peppol Network Expands Across Key Markets

Global eInvoicing is becoming core infrastructure, with Peppol Network data showing rapid adoption driven by regulation
Peppol enables businesses to connect and send invoices in a standardised digital format via certified Access Points, while reducing manual handling, errors, and delays. As more countries introduce phased mandates, adoption is expected to accelerate further in the coming years.
Providers such as Link4 are supporting businesses through this transition by enabling faster, more accurate, and compliant invoicing across interoperable digital networks.
"eInvoicing is no longer an emerging trend. It is becoming core business infrastructure," said Robin Sands, CEO of Link4. "While regulation is accelerating adoption, organisations are recognising the long-term value in accuracy and smooth cross-border transactions."
With over 1.1 million organisations registered, Belgium represents one of the most mature and widely adopted eInvoicing ecosystems globally. Others, including Australia (approximately 424,000 participants), Norway (around 368,000), and France (about 275,000), continue to prove strong adoption, reflecting their well-developed digital markets.
Additional markets are steadily expanding their footprint. Sweden records close to 148,000 participants, the Netherlands over 82,000, Singapore approximately 64,000, and Poland and New Zealand maintain notable adoption as roll out programmes advance. Even emerging markets such as Italy, Finland, and Malaysia continue scaling participation by aligning national frameworks with Peppol standards.
The data reveals a major shift: eInvoicing has evolved from an early-stage digital initiative into a rapidly advancing global infrastructure layer for B2B and G2B transactions. With wider B2B mandates expected by 2027, it further solidifies its role as a global standard.
