Turkey Data Center Market Size to Reach USD 1.79 Billion by 2031, Supported by 32 Existing and 5 Upcoming Data Center Facilities | Arizton

Turkey Data Center Market Size to Reach USD 1.79 Billion by 2031,

The Turkey data center market was valued at USD 715 million in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 1.79 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 16.56%. Increasing demand for cloud services, AI workloads, and enterprise digital transformation is driving strong investments in data center infrastructure across the country. While Istanbul remains the primary hub, operators are expanding into secondary markets to support capacity growth and enhance network resilience. Supported by its strategic location between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Turkey is emerging as a key regional connectivity and data infrastructure hub, attracting growing interest from hyperscalers, colocation providers, and enterprise customers.

AI Workloads Fuel High-Density Data Center Demand in Turkey
Rising demand for AI model training and low-latency inference is driving the need for high-power, high-density data centers in Turkey, as enterprises and hyperscalers seek local capacity to run AI workloads efficiently while meeting latency, data sovereignty, and cost requirements. To support this shift, Google announced plans in November 2025 to launch a cloud region in Turkey in partnership with Turkcell, introducing local hyperscale cloud infrastructure and advanced AI services. The development will enable low-latency performance, support data residency requirements, and improve service reliability, accelerating AI adoption across the country. In response to growing demand, data center operators are expanding facilities and deploying GPU-ready infrastructure, high-density racks, and advanced power and cooling systems to support AI-driven workloads and increasing digital infrastructure demand.

Submarine Cable Investments Strengthen Turkey's Role as a Regional Digital Connectivity Hub
Turkey is strengthening its role as a regional digital connectivity hub through expanding submarine cable infrastructure, which supports international internet traffic and enables high-capacity, low-latency connectivity for cloud services and digital platforms. The planned 1,118-mile Kardesa submarine cable, connecting Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, and Ukraine, and backed by NEQSOL Holding and Vodafone, is expected to be operational by 2027, improving regional data transmission and network resilience. Additionally, Turkcell and Sparkle signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in March 2025 to develop a Mediterranean submarine cable linking Izmir and Chania, Crete, further strengthening Turkey's international connectivity and digital infrastructure.

Data Center Modernization and New Cooling Techniques Support AI Workloads
Data center modernization is becoming essential as operators respond to rising compute density, AI workloads, and sustainability requirements. Upgrading legacy facilities helps reduce total cost of ownership (TCO), improve operational reliability, and support advanced services such as AI processing and real-time analytics that traditional infrastructure cannot efficiently handle. To support these higher workloads, operators are increasingly adopting advanced cooling technologies such as immersion cooling and direct liquid cooling, which enable higher rack power density and improved energy efficiency while lowering power usage effectiveness (PUE). In addition, direct liquid cooling offers a practical option for retrofitting existing data centers, allowing operators to gradually upgrade legacy facilities to support GPU-intensive and AI-driven workloads while improving data center efficiency and scalability.
