Nebraska Methodist College Ranked in Top 2% Nationwide by Newsweek

Omaha, Neb. - Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) has been named among the Top 2% of colleges nationwide in Newsweek's America's Best Colleges for Women 2026 rankings. In addition to this national distinction, NMC was recognized as the #1 college in Nebraska for Nursing among institutions included in the ranking.

The full rankings can be viewed here (https://rankings.newsweek.com/americas-best-colleges-for-women-2026).

"This recognition reflects the dedication of our students, faculty and staff who are committed to excellence in nursing education," said Dr. Mindy Barna, Dean of Nursing and Vice President of Nursing Operations at Nebraska Methodist College. "Being ranked in the Top 2% nationally - and named #1 in Nebraska for Nursing - affirms our mission to empower women to become confident healthcare leaders who positively impact their communities."

This recognition as one of the top women's colleges highlights Nebraska Methodist College's long standing commitment to advancing women in nursing and healthcare through rigorous academics, strong clinical partnerships and student-centered support systems. As a healthcare-focused institution founded in 1891, NMC prepares graduates to lead with knowledge, skill and compassion in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

As a nationally recognized women's nursing college, NMC's nursing programs emphasize evidence-based practice, hands-on clinical experiences, leadership development and personalized mentorship. From undergraduate to graduate pathways, the College equips students with the tools needed to thrive in hospitals, clinics and community health settings. The national recognition comes at a time when nursing education and workforce development remain critical priorities. Earlier this year, NMC leadership was also featured in Newsweek discussing nursing education and federal policy considerations, underscoring the College's role in national conversations shaping the profession.
