Reeve Benaron Shares Key Trends Shaping Health and Technology
Entrepreneur Reeve Benaron of Los Angeles outlines the trends in healthtech, data, and innovation that are changing how people live, work, and make decisions.Technology entrepreneur and healthtech leader Reeve Benaron is highlighting several key trends shaping the future of healthcare, data, and everyday decision-making. Drawing from his work in digital media, diagnostics, and venture investing, Benaron is encouraging individuals to better understand how these shifts impact their daily lives.
"Technology is moving faster than most systems around it," Benaron said. "The question is how we use it to solve real problems in a way that actually helps people."
Below are four major trends he believes matter right now-and what they mean in practical terms.
1. Digital Health Is Becoming the Default
Digital health tools are no longer optional. They are becoming central to how care is delivered.
There are now more than 337,000 digital health apps worldwide, along with growing use of remote monitoring and AI-driven diagnostics.
At the same time, global organizations are pushing for broader adoption. The World Health Organization notes that digital health can improve access, efficiency, and overall health outcomes.
For Benaron, this signals a deeper shift.
"Healthcare is starting to behave more like a platform," he said. "It's not just about a single test or visit anymore. It's about how everything connects."
2. Access to Diagnostics Remains a Major Gap
Despite advances, access to basic diagnostics is still uneven.
Globally, about 70% of healthcare decisions rely on diagnostic tests, yet only 3-5% of healthcare budgets are spent on diagnostics.
In many regions, people still lack access to even basic testing.
Benaron sees this as one of the biggest opportunities for improvement.
"Diagnostics are the starting point for almost every healthcare decision," he said. "If you don't have access, everything else breaks down."
3. Data and Platforms Are Driving New Industries
Across industries, data is becoming the foundation for decision-making.
Healthcare, media, and technology are all moving toward integrated systems where platforms connect users, services, and insights.
"Most companies are still thinking in terms of products," Benaron said. "But the real shift is toward platforms that scale and connect everything."
Governments and organizations worldwide are investing in digital health infrastructure and data systems to support this change.
4. Speed of Innovation Is Outpacing Systems
The pace of innovation has accelerated across sectors, especially during the pandemic.
However, traditional systems often struggle to keep up.
"During high-pressure moments, you see where systems break," Benaron said. "Technology can move faster, but only if it's built to scale."
Recent global health data shows that healthcare systems are still recovering from pandemic disruptions, including declines in life expectancy and uneven access to care.
Your Next 7 Days
Benaron suggests starting small but intentional:
*
Track one aspect of your health (sleep, activity, or habits)
*
Download and test a digital health or productivity app
*
Spend 30 minutes learning about a new technology trend
*
Write down your top three priorities each morning
*
Have one conversation with someone outside your field
*
Take a daily walk without distractions to think clearly
*
Reflect on one decision and how you made it
"Clarity comes from simple actions repeated consistently," he said.
Your Next 90 Days
For longer-term impact, he recommends:
*
Build a system for tracking goals and progress
*
Develop a routine that includes both physical and mental resets
*
Learn a new skill related to data, technology, or decision-making
*
Find a mentor or offer mentorship to someone else
*
Focus on building something that can scale, not just a one-time result
"Small systems create big outcomes over time," Benaron said.
A Call to Action
Benaron encourages readers to take action now, not later.
"Progress doesn't come from waiting," he said. "Pick one step, start today, and build from there."
