The lucha libre icon and Mexican creative studio ¡Viva Calavera! join forces
to launch a limited-edition figure that brings Mexico's identity, culture,
and ingenuity to the international collectibles market.

Rey Mysterio, the most recognized Mexican wrestler in the history of global
sports entertainment, and ¡Viva Calavera!, a Mexican creative studio, announce
the official launch of the limited-edition vinyl figure Rey Mysterio vs The
Darkness, in collaboration with collectibles platform Toymak3rs.

The drop takes place on April 28, 2026 exclusively at playgrounddrops.com,
for a limited time.

Behind the figure's design is ¡Viva Calavera!, a creative studio specializing
in animation and narrative storytelling, founded by the masked Calavera Hermanos, who are also the creators of the animated series Rey Mysterio vs The Darkness,
developed in partnership with Cartoon Network LATAM.

Rey Mysterio has spent more than three decades representing the lucha libre style of wrestling on the
world's biggest stages. From Tijuana to the most iconic arenas in the United

Over 11 years, Mysterio worked on the development of Rey Mysterio vs The
Darkness alongside the ¡Viva Calavera! team - an animated series that draws
on the history, values, and aesthetic of Mexican lucha libre as the backbone
of its narrative. This launch is the physical extension of that universe, and
proof that a Mexican can build an intellectual property that competes with
any international franchise.
