FAST LTA Launches Silent AI: The Sovereign AI Appliance for Businesses - Local, Secure, and Cloud-Free

Munich, April 2026 - FAST LTA GmbH, a Munich-based provider of on-premises solutions for secure data storage and digital sovereignty, announces the availability of Silent AI - an AI appliance for local, AI-powered knowledge management that operates entirely within the company's own data center. Silent AI is now available through FAST LTA partners.

Enterprise AI without loss of data sovereignty

The use of generative AI in the enterprise environment has often failed to date due to a fundamental question: How can AI be used productively without transferring sensitive corporate data to cloud services? Silent AI provides a clear answer to this.

The appliance executes all AI queries entirely locally. No prompt, no token, and no user query leaves the hardware. In standard operation, the internal knowledge base of the LLM is disabled -- the model understands the question asked and formulates the answer, but draws its knowledge exclusively from the data sources defined by the company. This structurally prevents the AI from hallucinating. If needed, the LLM's general knowledge can be activated for queries outside the defined dataset. And even then, no data leaves the appliance.

Connected to the entire digital work environment

Silent AI connects via integrated connectors to the company's central source systems or workplace applications, such as: Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Outlook and Exchange, Confluence, Slack, SMB/file shares, web scrapers, PDF uploads, and SQL databases. Additional connectors are already available.

The ingested information is stored in a local vector database on the appliance. For queries, individual datasets can be configured to specifically consolidate information from connected sources, such as all documents related to a project, a department, or a compliance area.

Every response automatically includes source references with direct citations to the original document. Users thus always know where information comes from and can trace it directly.

Integrated Identity Management: Role-based access, without exceptions

A key differentiator of Silent AI is the complete integration of the company's own identity management system. Silent AI adopts the company's existing permissions structure. No new permissions need to be created or migrated.

This means: Each user receives responses exclusively based on documents and information to which they have access in their normal daily work. No exceptions--not even for system administrators. Anyone without read access to a document will not receive any content from it via Silent AI.

This feature is particularly relevant for companies with strict compliance requirements, where access to information must be clearly regulated and verifiable.

Silent AI supports typical entry-level scenarios as well as large-scale production environments. Silent AI is designed as a scalable appliance that flexibly adapts to growing user requirements. The solution is therefore suitable for both medium-sized companies and larger organizations that wish to deploy a sovereign AI infrastructure in specific departments or as an enterprise-wide platform.
