Facility and Production

In the Zuchwil industrial park, GrowMotion operates a production facility with a total area of 6,000 square meters. At the heart of the facility is a modular three-tier vertical farming system featuring mobile grow racks made of 14-gauge steel, sensor-based climate control, energy-efficient LED technology, and data-driven nutrient management. This allows up to 3,000 plants to be cultivated simultaneously in just 157 square meters.

Currently, approximately 900 square meters are in use across two production rooms--about 15 percent of the total available capacity--with an annual production of 1.5 to 1.8 tons of GACP-certified medicinal cannabis. Approvals for two additional production rooms have already been granted. Thanks to the modular design, scaling up to 6 to 8 tons of annual production is feasible without relocating or undertaking major structural modifications.

Certification and Regulatory Framework

In September 2024, following an audit with no findings, Swissmedic granted GrowMotion an operating license for the production of prescription medical cannabis. The facility was planned and built to GACP standards from the outset--with the goal of achieving a complete pharmaceutical supply chain. GMP certification is targeted for 2027.

While many producers rely on purchased external genetics, GrowMotion also develops its own strains with reproducible active ingredient profiles and specifically designed terpene compositions.

"Seed to Sell": Control Over the Entire Value Chain

GrowMotion is working to gradually reduce external dependencies on GMP service providers and wholesalers. The goal: a fully integrated "Seed-to-Sell" chain that operates from cutting to pharmacy packaging without intermediate steps--thereby further strengthening the profitability of the company, which is already operational.

Team and corporate culture

GrowMotion was founded by Hazir Baba-Shech, who built the company from the ground up into a Swissmedic-licensed pharmaceutical operation without any prior industry experience. Head of Cultivation Benjamin Gutsch has been responsible for cultivation operations since November 2020. Co-founder and early investor Wasim Taha, known as the rapper Massiv, is actively involved in the company as an entrepreneur--not as a promotional figure, but as a core member of the company with a proven entrepreneurial track record.

Market Environment and Outlook

The partial legalization of cannabis in Germany in April 2024 fundamentally transformed the European medical cannabis market: Import volumes rose from around 30 to approximately 200 tons within 18 months. At that time, GrowMotion was already fully licensed and ready for production--a head start that few European players could boast. At the same time, the company is exploring international expansion. In Switzerland, full legalization--including for the recreational market--could further benefit GrowMotion as an already licensed player.

Digital Investment Round Starting in September 2026

GrowMotion is planning a digital investment round for September 2026, in which investors can directly participate in the company's financial success. The goal is to raise approximately 8 million euros to complete the vertical integration of the value chain, scale production capacity, and advance GMP certification for 2027. The investment round is aimed at both institutional and private investors.
