Michelle Soutier Joins "Wiggin' Out for CBF" Campaign as 18-Year Breast Cancer Survivor
Charlotte community leader & breast cancer survivor raises funds, awareness for CBF at April 25 event.CHARLOTTE, N.C. - April 21, 2026 - Michelle Soutier, an 18-year breast cancer survivor and Charlotte community leader, has joined the 2026 Wiggin' Out for Carolina Breast Friends [https://www.carolinabreastfriends.org/wiggin-out-for-cbf] campaign as one of this year's featured "Big Wigs." Throughout the month of April, Soutier is fundraising on behalf of Carolina Breast Friends (CBF) [https://www.carolinabreastfriends.org/] with a goal of raising $60,000 to support the nonprofit's mission to ensure that no breast cancer patient faces their journey alone.
Wiggin' Out is CBF's signature fundraising campaign, bringing together passionate community leaders who commit to raising funds and awareness by showing up across Charlotte in bold pink wigs as a visible symbol of support for survivors and thrivers at every stage of their breast cancer journey. One-hundred percent of funds raised support free programs and services offered through The Pink House, CBF's hub for peer mentorship, wellness workshops, retreats, comfort care, and more.
The campaign culminates in a special community event on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Charlotte, North Carolina, where supporters can come together to celebrate the mission and the incredible survivors behind it.
For Soutier, this campaign is deeply personal.
"This Wiggin' Out campaign is so important to me as an 18-year breast cancer survivor," said Soutier. "When I was diagnosed, my daughter was only eight years old, and my prayer was simply to live long enough to watch her grow up - to see my sister find the love of her life, watch my niece Maryanne start her family, and be there for my mother as she aged. Because of the blessings of medical care and the quick decisions that were made, I'm still here 18 years later, enjoying my adult daughter, celebrating my niece, and spending precious time with my mom. I want the journey for breast cancer patients to be as smooth and supported as possible, and Carolina Breast Friends offers exactly that through The Pink House. It is a true blessing for so many men and women battling breast cancer."
Carolina Breast Friends provides free programs and services for breast cancer Survivors and Thrivers, creating a community where healing extends beyond treatment. The organization operates from The Pink House at 1607 E. Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC 28207.
