Coronado Beach Productions Film "The Velveteen Actor" To Show At The SunScreen Film Festival
"The Velveteen Actor" will be shown during the Sunscreen Film Festival in St. Petersburg, Florida on May 1st
ORLANDO, Fla. - April 14, 2026 - Coronado Beach Productions [https://coronadobeachproductions.com/], an Orlando-based award-winning independent film company, is honored to announce that its latest film, "The Velveteen Actor," will be airing at the 2026 Sunscreen Film Festival [https://sunscreenfilmfestival.com/] in St. Petersburg, Florida. The festival takes place from April 30th to May 3rd at the Sundial AMC 12 Theatres in the heart of downtown.
"We were honored to provide production assistance to All The Line Studios and Incubator, with whom we partnered on several previous films, including First Rites and Quantum Link," said Dr. George Ellis, president of Coronado Beach Productions and Executive Producer of the film. "The crew did an outstanding job in bringing the story to life, and Jeffrey Herman's performance was truly inspiring."
"The Velveteen Actor" was created by Jeffrey Herman, who also starred as the film's main character, Orson Welles. In the film, Welles grapples with the question of how his identity differs from his performance, and when pretending begins to blur the line between reality and fiction.
Jeffrey Rembert served as co-director for "The Velveteen Actor" alongside Herman. Kimberly DiPersia also stars in the film. Herman, Rembert, DiPersia, Ellis, and Tony Taylor all helped produce the film.
"The Velveteen Actor" was shot at the historic Ramon Theatre in Frostproof, Florida. The theatre was constructed in 1925 in a Mediterranean Revival style and was restored in 2002. Since that time, it has been a popular location for hosting murder-mystery and holiday-themed events.
"The Velveteen Actor" will air on Friday, May 1st, during the festival at 9 A.M. in Theater One of the Sundial AMC 12. Tickets for the 2026 Sunscreen Film Festival can be purchased on the Sunscreen Film Festival's website, https://sunscreenfilmfestival.com/.
