Home wellness installations, including infrared saunas and cold plunge tubs, are among the fastest-growing segments, as a new wave of curated retailers moves to serve consumers who want resort-grade outdoor spaces at home
The United States outdoor furniture and kitchen market was valued at $8.77 billion in 2024 and is projected to nearly double to $16.92 billion by 2033, growing at an annual rate of 7.59 percent, according to research published by ResearchAndMarkets.com. The growth is not being driven by consumers buying more outdoor furniture. It is being driven by consumers buying different outdoor furniture - and increasingly, by homeowners who no longer view their patio or backyard as a separate space from the rest of the house.

That shift in how Americans think about outdoor living has created openings for a new generation of specialty retailers built around a premise that the big-box home improvement chains have largely ignored: that the backyard is now a room, and rooms require curation, not just inventory.

Nokoluxe Living, an online retailer based in St. Petersburg, Florida, is among those staking a position in that space. The company, which operates at https://nokoluxe.com/ has assembled a product range that spans premium outdoor furniture, gas grills and outdoor kitchen systems, fire tables, infrared saunas, and cold plunge tubs - a combination that places it at the intersection of two markets that are both expanding rapidly but are rarely served by a single retailer.

The outdoor furniture side of the business is anchored by established American and international brands. The store carries lines from LuxCraft, an Amish-crafted manufacturer known for recycled-poly Adirondack chairs and outdoor seating built from reclaimed materials. It stocks Anderson Teak, whose solid teak sun loungers and deep-seating collections are built to weather years of outdoor exposure without structural deterioration. Seaside Casual, a Rhode Island-based manufacturer using marine-grade recycled HDPE polymer, and Elementi, a fire table specialist producing porcelain and concrete designs, round out the core furniture and outdoor living categories. Napoleon, the Canadian grill manufacturer based in Barrie, Ontario, supplies the outdoor kitchen segment.

The more distinctive side of the catalog, however, is the wellness category. Nokoluxe carries infrared saunas from Orivon Wellness and cold plunge tubs - products that five years ago were confined almost entirely to commercial spas, professional sports facilities, and high-end resorts. The global cold plunge tub market was valued at approximately $330 million in 2024 and is projected to reach nearly $660 million by 2033, growing at an annual rate of 8.1 percent, according to Grand View Research.

Household sauna installations are projected to grow at an annual rate of 8.61 percent, driven by e-commerce availability and smart-home integration, according to Mordor Intelligence.

The migration of these products from commercial to residential settings represents one of the more significant consumer behavior shifts in the home improvement sector in recent years. Cold plunge therapy, once reserved for professional athletes, has become a mainstream wellness practice, fueled by social media visibility and a broader cultural emphasis on recovery and preventive health. Infrared saunas have followed a similar trajectory, moving from day spas into garages, basements, and backyards as units have become more compact, energy-efficient, and accessible to non-commercial buyers.

That curation-first model puts Nokoluxe in a different lane from the large home improvement retailers, which typically carry broad but shallow outdoor selections, and from marketplace platforms, where product quality and brand authenticity can vary widely between sellers. By restricting its catalog to a small number of established manufacturers and evaluating products against specific criteria - material durability, weather resistance, maintenance requirements, and design coherence - the company is betting that a growing segment of consumers will pay a premium for confidence in what they are buying.

The U.S. outdoor furniture market alone is estimated at approximately $5.6 billion in 2025, according to Straits Research, driven by a strong outdoor living culture in which consumers increasingly invest in patios, decks, and gardens as extensions of their indoor spaces. The trend toward creating seamless indoor-outdoor transitions has intensified demand for furnishings that can hold up to daily use and weather exposure without the rapid deterioration common in lower-priced alternatives.

Whether the curated model can compete at scale against larger retailers with deeper marketing budgets and wider distribution remains an open question for all independent operators in this space.

The outdoor furniture market overall is expected to continue its upward trajectory, with manufacturers embracing environmentally friendly materials, modular designs, and direct-to-consumer distribution strategies. For retailers that can identify the right brands, maintain product quality standards, and reach consumers before they default to the nearest big-box alternative, the market conditions are favorable. For those that cannot, the same conditions will accelerate consolidation.
