HotelComply: The Privacy and Data-Governance Operating Layer for Hospitality

HotelComply launches a hospitality-first privacy and data-governance platform, enabling hotel operators to operationalize CPRA and
Founded by a luxury hotel general manager with firsthand operational experience, HotelComply was created to solve a persistent industry challenge: how to operationalize privacy compliance without the overhead of enterprise software. While regulations such as the California Consumer Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) and the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) impose strict requirements on businesses that collect personal data, most independent hotels lack the infrastructure to manage compliance effectively.
HotelComply introduces a streamlined, hotel-specific approach to privacy and data governance. The platform guides operators through a structured compliance workflow, beginning with a five-step assessment that evaluates current data practices and identifies risk exposure. From there, users can generate Records of Processing Activities (ROPA), manage Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) within mandated timelines, and maintain a centralized compliance dashboard that produces audit-ready documentation.
Unlike legacy compliance tools designed for large enterprises, HotelComply focuses on usability and speed of implementation. Hotels can move from onboarding to actionable compliance outputs in a matter of hours, not months. The system is designed to reflect real hotel operations, including integrations with common hospitality vendors and workflows aligned with front office, reservations, and marketing functions.
"HotelComply is the privacy and data-governance operating layer for hospitality," said the company's founder. "We built this platform to meet hoteliers where they are - operationally and financially - and give them a defensible, practical path to compliance."
The timing is critical. California alone is home to more than 7,000 lodging properties, all subject to CPRA requirements. For hotels serving international travelers, GDPR obligations further increase the complexity and risk of non-compliance. Enforcement activity is increasing, and penalties for violations can be significant.
HotelComply's value proposition lies in translating regulatory requirements into operational workflows that hotel teams can realistically execute. By automating documentation and standardizing processes, the platform reduces legal exposure while allowing operators to stay focused on guest experience.
The company is currently onboarding early users across California, with plans to expand its feature set to include vendor risk management, consent tracking, and AI-driven regulatory updates.
