NETPUB/MCA INC. INTRODUCES NEW TEACHING GUIDES FOR CHILDREN’S LITERATURE

We are launching the TG Handbooks, teaching guides for popular and respected children’s literature.

Charlotte Jaffe and Barbara Doherty have been educators, authors, professional development providers, and have collaborated for over twenty-five years. They have written over 120 educational books, developed educational games and have written articles for scholarly publications. Each TG Handbook includes Story Summary, About the Author, Preparing to Read, Cooperative-Learning Projects, Vocabulary Skills, Chapter-by-Chapter Critical-Thinking Questions, Spotlight Literary Skills, Creative-Thinking Activities, Glossary of Literary Terms, and Post-Reading Activities. Four or five literary devices and skills are spotlighted in each guide and may include plot, setting, point of view, irony, tone, figures of speech, foreshadowing, symbolism, flashback, main idea, theme, interpretation, and mood, depending on which is most appropriate to the source literature.
