Solidise Launches Browser-Based SOLIDWORKS Automation Platform

Solidise, a new software startup, today announced the general availability of its browser-based SOLIDWORKS automation platform. Designed for engineering and procurement teams, Solidise indexes CAD files locally and provides instant Bill of Materials (BOM) views, where-used tracing and batch export automation. The solution lets engineers save hours on searching, checking and exporting by giving them the tools they need directly in the browser.

Solidise's local-first architecture means the platform indexes assemblies, parts and drawings on the user's workstation; no CAD data leaves the machine, addressing security concerns and eliminating heavy PDM workflows. The browser workspace includes a file explorer, search and preview tools that let users navigate assemblies and parts quickly without opening SOLIDWORKS. Engineers can open Bill of Materials and where-used views instantly to trace relationships and dependencies in seconds.

The platform also automates repetitive export tasks. Users can generate BOM exports in one action and queue multiple files to run SOLIDWORKS export formats such as STEP, STL, DXF and more. Solidise ensures naming preview and collision validation before writing files and supports batch exports to reduce release-day errors. Early testing shows that around 100 single parts can export in roughly one minute, and generating ten BOM XLSX files happens almost instantly.

Because Solidise runs in the engineer's preferred browser, there is no learning curve; the workspace works on Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. The local agent indexes data on the workstation, keeping files secure. Teams can adopt Solidise across multiple engineers, with each user running their own local agent environment. The platform offers a three-day free trial for new accounts and supports access via OneDrive or Dropbox as long as the files are available on disk. Setup involves installing the agent, selecting scan folders and running a local scan before opening the browser workspace.
