"Interviewing AI" Offers a Rare Look at How Five AI Systems Interpret the Same Questions

Walnut Creek, CA - March 2026 - A new book by author Alex Tetelbaum, Interviewing AI, presents a side by side comparison of how five leading AI systems respond to identical questions about intelligence, ethics, creativity, and the future.

Artificial intelligence is often discussed as if it were a single entity - one mind, one voice, one perspective. But when you talk to multiple AI systems side by side, a very different picture emerges.

For this latest project, Tetelbaum interviewed five major AI systems and asked each of them the same set of questions about intelligence, ethics, creativity, and the future of work. The goal wasn't to test them, but to understand how they reason.

What he found was a surprising diversity of thought:
• Some systems were cautious and risk averse.
• Others were bold and speculative.
• Some leaned philosophical.
• Others leaned analytical.
• Occasionally, they contradicted each other outright.

These differences weren't flaws - they were insights. They revealed how each system interprets the world based on its training, architecture, and assumptions about human expectations.

This project became his new book, Interviewing AI, now available on Amazon. But beyond the book itself, the process taught me something important: if we want to understand AI, we need to listen to more than one voice.

Tetelbaum structured the interviews like a moderated debate, allowing the systems' differences to emerge naturally. "The contradictions were often the most illuminating part," he notes.
