Proxicast Adds Duel Systems’ DuelAdapter Cradle To Its Line Of
LAN-Cell 3G Cellular Router Accessories

Proxicast is pleased to announce that it has become one of a select group of authorized resellers of Duel Systems’ ExpressCard to PC-Card conversion adapter, the “DuelAdapter Cradle”.

Many new 3G (third generation – EVDO / HDSPA / HSUPA / UMTS) cellular modem cards are now available in ExpressCard form factor. This can create a compatibility issue for many devices such as 3G cellular routers and laptops that only have support for traditional PC-Card based modems.

The DuelAdapter Cradle from Duel Systems enables users of computers and networking devices that only have PC-Card (PCMCIA or CardBus) slots to use ExpressCard based devices for cellular, wireless, broadband and other applications without any need to upgrade their computers and networking devices.

The DuelAdapter Cradle mechanically and electrically bridges the ExpressCard and PC-Card formats with no compromise in speed and with “plug-and-play” ease of use. The Cradle seamlessly converts information and transfers data at the full PCMCIA and CardBus transfer rates supported by the host device. Moreover, the DuelAdapter Cradle requires no software driver.

The DuelAdapter Cradle is an excellent complementary product for the Proxicast LAN-Cell 2 3G cellular router enabling the use of ExpressCard modems in the LAN-Cell 2’s PC-Card Slot. For example, owners of the Verizon V740 and Sprint EX720 wireless broadband ExpressCard modems, both manufactured by Novatel Wireless, can now use these ExpressCards in the Proxicast LAN-Cell 2 3G cellular router.

The LAN-Cell 2 3G cellular router is an upgradable third generation (3G) high-speed secure cellular router. The LAN-Cell 2 is a rugged professional-grade cellular router with enterprise-class routing, security and VPN features that allows multiple PC's, laptops, webcams, controllers, PLCs, ATMs, VoIP phones and other Ethernet-based devices to simultaneously share a single cellular data account for primary or backup connectivity.
