Founded by Suganthi SV, Mitaish is built on a simple but powerful idea - that everything a woman needs for fashion, stitching and tailoring should be available under one roof. Today, Mitaish delivers on that idea through three integrated businesses operating from a single location in the heart of Avadi.
Boutique & Stitching Services
The Mitaish Boutique specialises in custom blouse stitching for all occasions - from everyday wear to heavily embellished bridal blouses with aari embroidery, mirror work and bead detailing. Services include bridal wear, lehenga stitching, anarkali, readymade alterations, kids stitching and complete ladies tailoring. Every garment is custom stitched to the customer's exact measurements and style preference, ensuring a perfect fit every time.
Fashion Designing Institute
The Mitaish Fashion Designing Institute has trained hundreds of women from across North Chennai, empowering them with skills to start their own tailoring businesses and careers in fashion. Courses offered include the Diploma in Fashion Designing (6 months, 85 garments), Diploma in Tailoring (3 months, 45 garments), Basic Tailoring (1 month, 14 garments), and the Aari Embroidery Course (2 months, 105 stitch types). Saturday weekend workshops are also held every week for those who cannot attend daily classes. All courses include 3 hours of daily hands-on practical training, a certificate on completion, and a monthly payment option to make enrolment accessible.
Tailor's Supermarket
Mitaish also operates Chennai's most complete tailoring accessories supermarket, stocking everything a tailor or home stitcher could need - running fabrics, dress materials, laces, beads, sequins, threads in all colours, cancan, zips, elastic bands, needles, scissors, aari embroidery materials and much more. The supermarket serves both professional tailors and home stitchers across Avadi and North Chennai.
About the Founder
Suganthi SV, founder of Mitaish, built the business from her passion for fashion and stitching into one of Avadi's most recognised fashion destinations. Her vision has always been to create a space where women can get expert stitching, learn a valuable skill, and find all their tailoring supplies - all in one place.
