"English adaption and original work is becoming more important to German PR firms," Blom says. "Unfortunately, translators don't have that background in journalism training which would make them qualified to do a good journalism adaption."

When questioned about the time-lapse a freelancer could cause a firm, Blom said, “When both know what the other needs to get the job done, there is no time-lapse. I make every effort to get adaption releases out the same day, with original releases and other communications following quickly on an 'as soon as possible' basis."

Pricing depends on the project, with discounted monthly retainer fees available.
