Mistimonta Ventures Legal Troubles Take Center Stage in Lagos Magistrate Court

Fresh legal proceedings involving an individual widely known as Olajide Soyombo the owner of Mistimonta Ventures a car company have moved into public focus following developments at the Magistrate Court of Lagos State sitting in the Epe Magisterial District, Magbon-Alade, Ibeju-Lekki.

Court records indicate that the matter, filed under Charge No. EP/156/2025, was brought before the court by the Commissioner of Police. The defendant appeared in court, and the charges were read in English. A plea of not guilty was entered to all counts.

Following the plea, defence counsel urged the court to grant bail on liberal terms pursuant to constitutional provisions. The presiding Magistrate granted bail in the sum of ₦2,000,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.

The court outlined specific conditions for the sureties, including:

• Residency in Lagos State
• Proof of gainful employment
• LASRRA registration
• Bank statements and proof of ownership of personal assets valued at or above the bail sum
• Evidence of three years' tax payments with confirmation from the Lagos Internal Revenue Service

Additionally, one surety is required to deposit a refundable sum of ₦500,000 into the Chief Registrar's bond account pending the perfection of bail conditions.

Until these conditions are fully met, the defendant is to remain in custody. The case has been adjourned to December 4, 2025 for mention.

Separate court documentation also reflects procedural orders directing that the defendant be produced before the court on scheduled dates as proceedings continue.
