China's stainless steel crude steel production, import and export volume, and apparent consumption in 2025

On January 29, 2026, the Stainless Steel Branch of the China Iron and Steel Industry Association released the statistical data on China's stainless steel crude steel production, import and export volume, and apparent consumption in 2025 as follows:
1. China's stainless steel crude steel output in 2025
In 2025, China's stainless steel crude steel output will be 40.8681 million tons, an increase of 1.427 million tons year-on-year, an increase of 3.62%.

Among them: Cr-Ni steel (300 series) 21.1404 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 849,000 tons, an increase of 4.18%; Cr steel (400 series) 7.5783 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 403,600 tons, an increase of 5. 63%; Cr-Mn steel (200 series) 11.6404 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 77,100 tons, an increase of 0.67%; duplex stainless steel output was 509,026 tons, a year-on-year increase of 97,333 tons, an increase of 23.64%.

In terms of variety structure, the proportion of Cr-Ni steel (300 series) increased by 0.28 percentage points, accounting for 51.73%; the proportion of Cr steel (400 series) increased by 0.35 percentage points, accounting for 18.54%; the proportion of Cr-Mn steel (200 series) decreased by 0.84 percentage points, accounting for 28.48%; the proportion of duplex stainless steel production increased to 1.25%.

2. China's stainless steel import and export volume in 2025
In 2025, China's total stainless steel imports will be 1.5192 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 358,400 tons, or 19.09%. Among them, China's stainless steel imports from Indonesia totaled 1.2258 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 338,400 tons, or 21.6%.
In 2025, China's total stainless steel exports will be 5.0311 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13,100 tons, or 0.26%.
In 2025, China's total net stainless steel exports will be 3.5119 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 372,400 tons, an increase of 11.9%.
3. China's apparent consumption of stainless steel in 2025
China's apparent stainless steel consumption in 2025 is 33.4616 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 969,600 tons, an increase of 2.98%.
