I-D Media creates Club Sonus, the new community platform for Sony Germany

Berlin, 07.05.2008 - Sony Germany has launched a new online photo community. Users can now find a wide range of information and entertainment covering the world of photography at http://club-sonus.sony.de.

I-D Media AG, one of the largest and most experienced service providers for complex platforms and community solutions in Germany, conceived and realised the community platform. The Berlin-based company overtook the concept, the entire creative development and design, as well as the complete operation of innovative online services for Sony.

"For the conceptual design and implementation of community platforms, special insights are required as well as extensive agency expertise. With I-D Media, we have found an extremely experienced partner offering key assistance on this project during the entire implementation process," commented Thilo Röhrig, Head of Communications at Sony Germany.

Regardless of whether ambitious hobby photographer or professional photographer, everyone united in their love for photography can now register for free at http://club-sonus.sony.de. In so doing, they will receive access to a comprehensive and expansive photo community.

Once registered, members can exchange information on all questions pertaining to photography, browse through galleries, evaluate photos, discuss different issues with one another and receive valuable suggestions and tips. Beyond these features, the new platform offers a variety of open forums, in which users can actively discuss topics and receive help across diverse areas of digital single lens reflex (DSLR) photography.

Club Sonus offers more

A special feature of the new community platform: owners of a Sony α DSLR camera can be automatically upgraded to premium membership. Premium access offers a wide range of special functions. In addition to personal image portfolios and attractive contests, the premium area offers exciting photo competitions and multifaceted workshops for photo fans.

Premium members in particular will profit from Sony’s commitment to professional photographers as well as Sony’s innovative power in the DSLR segment. The platform will soon be expanded with further interesting functions and areas. For instance, a new area will be integrated for owners of compact cameras and camcorders.
