Kochi City Police Gets Electric Boost from Numeros Motors
Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar IPS, Inspector General and Commissioner of Police for Kochi City, with the new Diplos EV two-wheelers

Bengaluru-based original equipment manufacturer Numeros Motors joined forces with Rotary Club of Cochin International today to power up the city's police fleet. In a ceremony held on Sunday evening, the Kochi City Police received five of Numeros' flagship electric two-wheeler, the Diplos.
The handover ceremony facilitated by Rotary Club of Cochin International (RCI), brought together senior representatives from Numeros Motors, Rotary Club of Cochin International and the Kochi City Police, marking this collaboration between corporate innovation, civic service, and law enforcement.
Numeros Motors has successfully completed India's largest pilot test, covering over 14 million kilometres on its Diplos platform-a first for any Indian OEM. The five vehicles handed over to the Kochi City Police are built on this proven platform and have been customised for police patrol needs. They are equipped with advanced features such as a public address system, siren, beacon lights, eagle-eye lights, walkie-talkie holder, a utility box, and helmets.

RCI has long been a champion of road safety initiatives. As part of its efforts to promote responsible road behaviour and commemorate the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, it organises an annual cyclothon every November in collaboration with the Kerala Police and the state motor vehicle department.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the city police, Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar IPS, Inspector General and Commissioner of Police for Kochi City, reiterated the importance of citizen and road safety. "Our priority is to transform Kochi's roads through disciplined enforcement and the integration of smart surveillance. The AI camera network under the Safe Kerala project has already begun to instill better road culture. Beyond automation, we are intensifying ground-level interventions-such as our 'Traffic Eye' initiative-to empower citizens to report violations in real-time. These electric two-wheelers will be a valuable addition to our patrol fleet, particularly for navigating busy urban and tourist areas. We are grateful to Numeros Motors and Rotary Club of Cochin International for this thoughtful contribution that will directly benefit our day-to-day operations," said Commissioner Kumar.
