DJL Exotics Recognised for Award-Winning Reptile Experiences,

Essex, UK - DJL Exotics has been recognised for its immersive, in-house reptile experiences after receiving two major industry awards celebrating excellence in animal education, welfare, and care.
The Essex-based business was named Best Reptile Experience & Breeding Centre 2025 - East of England at the UK Enterprise Awards, hosted by SME News, with the award announced in July 2025. Building on that recognition, DJL Exotics was also awarded Best Reptile Breeder - Essex at the Business Excellence Awards 2026, announced in January 2026.
Together, the awards highlight DJL Exotics' approach to hands-on, educational animal experiences supported by strong welfare standards and responsible breeding practices. The business delivers structured, in-house encounters that allow visitors to engage safely and meaningfully with reptiles while learning about behaviour, conservation, and responsible ownership.
Following the UK Enterprise Awards announcement, the SME News Awards Team said:
"On behalf of everyone at SME News, I wish DJL Exotics a heart-felt well done."
Co-owner and animal handler David Lowbridge said the recognition reflects the purpose behind the experiences:
"Our goal has always been to give people a genuine, respectful way to connect with these animals. The experiences come first - breeding, welfare, and education support that mission. These awards show that approach is being recognised."
DJL Exotics hosts in-house animal experiences for families, schools, and community groups across Essex and the East of England, combining engagement with high standards of care and professionalism.
