Vegan leather alternative WASTEA meets international decision-makers from the fashion, automotive, and interior design industries

This move positions SUSMATA squarely at the center of the global materials and design industry. LINEAPELLE is considered a trend barometer for the fashion, furniture, and automotive industries, bringing together manufacturers, brands, and materials innovators from over 40 countries. For SUSMATA, the trade fair is a strategic venue for demonstrating industrial scalability, material performance, and sustainability in equal measure.

The focus of the trade fair presentation is WASTEA, a high-performance leather alternative with a bio-based content of 40 to 95 percent. The material is made from plant-based residues - including those from tea production - and is PVC-free, lightweight, heat-resistant, water-repellent, and antibacterial. It meets the high requirements of international customers, especially in the automotive and premium goods industries, and enables CO? savings of up to 80 percent compared to conventional leather. "LINEAPELLE is the place where it is decided which materials make the leap from the laboratory to the market," says Erdem Dogan, CEO of SUSMATA AG. "We are not only showcasing concepts here, but also industry-ready materials that already meet series standards." A key competitive advantage of SUSMATA AG is its access to a raw material that has hardly been used to date: class 4 tea waste, which is produced during industrial tea production. An exclusive partnership with the Turkish state-owned tea producer ?aykur ensures a long-term supply - a decisive criterion for international brands and OEMs looking for reliable, scalable material solutions at LINEAPELLE. In addition to WASTEA, SUSMATA will also be presenting its expanded material platform at the trade fair. These include additional vegan leather solutions made from rose, coffee, and lavender waste, as well as the bio-based plastic substitute NOTPLAST, which is scheduled to be launched in 2026. All materials are based on the company's own patented technology platform and are manufactured under clean room conditions to ensure consistent quality and industrial reproducibility.

The appearance at LINEAPELLE underscores SUSMATA AG's ambition to establish itself as a relevant player in the global "material revolution." While classic leather and plastic solutions are increasingly under regulatory and environmental pressure, the market is shifting noticeably toward plant-based, recyclable alternatives--a trend that is particularly visible at LINEAPELLE.
