Danish Founder Bets Against "Gamified" Learning: VORLI Launches World's First AI-Native Language Simulator with Real-Time Lip-Sync
AARHUS, DENMARK - January 27, 2026 - While millions of people maintain daily "streaks" on language apps, a vast majority still freeze when asked to speak in real life. Today, Danish EdTech startup VORLI challenges this "illusion of fluency" by launching the world's first AI-Native Language Tutor designed to function as a flight simulator for conversations.Backed by a self-funded $250,000 investment from founder Martin Nødskov, VORLI goes live on Kickstarter today to disrupt the $60B language learning market.
Solving the "Silent Period" with Multi-Modal AI Unlike traditional apps that rely on "gamification hacks" (leaderboards and gems) to retain users, VORLI optimizes for "Outcome Metrics" like speaking confidence and reaction speed.
The app introduces two proprietary technologies to solve speaking anxiety:
1) Real-Time Lip-Sync Engine: VORLI features AI avatars that maintain eye contact and lip-sync perfectly with generated audio. This visual cue is critical for learning pronunciation and mimics the social pressure of a real human conversation, forcing the user to speak.
2) Computer Vision ("Point & Learn"): Utilizing the phone's camera, the AI can "see" the user's environment. A user can point their camera at a coffee machine, and the AI will instantly generate a roleplay scenario involving ordering coffee, grounding the lesson in physical reality.
A Quote from the Founder "We built VORLI because we were tired of apps that teach you to click buttons but not to speak," says Martin Nødskov, Founder of VORLI. "We are moving the industry from passive consumption to active simulation. It is not about keeping a streak alive; it is about surviving a conversation in Paris or Tokyo. We are effectively building a flight simulator for social interaction."
Kickstarter Campaign VORLI is launching exclusively on Kickstarter to build a community of serious learners who want to shape the final product. Backers can secure Lifetime Access to the platform for a limited time.
