Kurrant Ventures Backs Latitudo 40 to Advance Satellite-Driven, AI-Powered Geospatial Intelligence for Cities
Kurrant Ventures, the venture investment arm of Kurrant focused on backing high-potential companies at the intersection of cities, infrastructure, and digital innovation, has announced an investment in Latitudo 40, an Italy-based company specializing in AI-powered geospatial and resilience intelligence. As cities and infrastructure operators face increasing exposure to climate-related and environmental risks, Latitudo 40 helps decision-makers move from observation to anticipation. Its platform combines satellite imagery, Earth Observation data, and artificial intelligence to deliver actionable insights on urban heat, land-use dynamics, environmental change, and climate vulnerability-supporting more resilient planning and infrastructure strategies.
"Cities need practical resilience intelligence they can act on-not just more data," said Antoine Kassis, CEO of Kurrant. "Latitudo 40 is translating satellite and Earth observation signals into clear, usable insights for planning and adaptation. Being selected by leading European urban resilience programs, and already expanding internationally to cities like Abu Dhabi, is a strong signal of relevance. We're backing the company as a venture investment because we believe this capability will become foundational for cities worldwide."
Latitudo 40 delivers its capabilities through two complementary products: EarthDataPlace (EDP), a marketplace for high-precision satellite data and geospatial insights, and EarthDataInsights (EDI), an integrated platform that enables cities and territories to analyze trends, simulate scenarios, and support data-driven decisions for urban resilience and environmental monitoring. The company also applies generative AI to create synthetic satellite imagery, allowing planners to visualize and compare the potential impact of different adaptation and mitigation strategies before implementation.
"Welcoming Kurrant Ventures as an investor is an important step for Latitudo 40," said Gaetano Volpe, CEO and Founder of Latitudo 40. "Their understanding of the smart cities ecosystem and long-term perspective as a venture partner will help us accelerate our mission to make geospatial intelligence accessible and actionable for cities facing growing resilience challenges."
The investment will see Kurrant Ventures provide hands-on strategic advisory and business development support, with a particular focus on connecting Latitudo 40 to opportunities within the global smart cities ecosystem.
