New serVonic IXI-UMS Release 5.75 - IXI-UMS ready for MS Windows Server 2003 64-Bit

Olching, 30th April 2008: From May 2008 on, the new release 5.75 of serVonic’s unified messaging solution IXI-UMS will be available. Therewith the software manufacturer now offers its solution with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-Bit support and increased performance. The communication software now can also be used in modern computer center operation. In addition, the support of international character sets with the fax processing allows a flexible application of IXI-UMS in countries with different characters.

IXI-UMS ready for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-Bit
Apart from a 64-Bit Ready Kernel, serVonic offers a 64-Bit fax printer driver with the new IXI-UMS version 5.75 with driver certification by Microsoft. "Until now, our printer drivers supported only the 32-Bit technology,” says Jochen Klein. "As a component of the operating system, however, 32-Bit drivers cannot be used on the 64-Bit platforms“. According to the operating system, the respective printer driver – 32-Bit or 64-Bit – is installed automatically. A separate choice is not necessary. A revised set-up allows the extensions in the Active Directory necessary for the user administration. So the AD Display Specifiers "IXI-UMS" and "IXI-UMS Mobile“, as usual, are also available to the administrator under Windows server 2003 64-Bit. Moreover, for both worlds – 32-Bit and 64-Bit – the performance with the document rendering was considerably increased – an innovation, which is especially interesting for bigger installations with a high fax volume.

IXI-UMS Fax Processing for International Character Sets
With the support of international character sets, the IXI-UMS fax component now can convert all European languages as well as Arabic, Hebrew, Thai and Turkish. Free text as well as cover sheets can be processed in the respective language. "Especially internationally operating enterprises can now use our software flexibly in many different countries without having to be worried about the respective language on site,” Jochen Klein explains the advantages.
