Intends to Use Court-Supervised Process to Address Accelerated Debt Maturities Resulting from Main Street Loan BallooningCommitted to Operating Its Business as Usual, Including Providing Exceptional Service to Its Clients
DEC 23, 2025 - WASHINGTON, DC - Allied Telecom Group LLC ("Allied") today announced that it has filed voluntary petitions for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the District of Columbia. Allied intends to use the court-supervised process to address near-term debt maturities that were accelerated by the balloon payment associated with the Main Street Lending Program (MSLP), while continuing normal operations. The MSLP, launched in 2020 as part of the federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic, provided billions in liquidity to small and medium-sized businesses facing unprecedented economic disruption.
"Following a comprehensive review of our options, executive management determined that a voluntary Chapter 11 filing is a necessary and responsible step to address the financial impact of the Main Street Loan maturation on Allied and the businesses we support," said Ken Williams, Founder and Chairman of Allied. "This proactive action provides a clear path to long-term financial stability while allowing us to continue operating and serving our customers without interruption."
Williams added, "This process enables us to build on Allied's strong operational momentum as we constructively engage with our creditors towards a consensual plan of reorganization. We acted decisively to position Allied for the future, and we are confident that, upon completion of the process, we will be better positioned to invest in our business, enhance our capabilities for customers, and compete for the long term."
As part of its ongoing operational and network optimization strategy, Allied also announced that it has added LightCore MetroNet, LLC ("LightCore") as a strategic network services partner to its portfolio of vendors. Through this relationship, Allied will leverage LightCore's latest generation, carrier-class digital fiber infrastructure across the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region to support the delivery of dedicated internet access, optical transport and data center interconnection services for SMB, enterprise, government, and education sectors. This vendor partnership significantly enhances Allied's network reach, resiliency, and scalability, while preserving flexibility and substantially lowering operational costs.
In connection with the Chapter 11 filing, Allied submitted customary "first day" motions seeking court approval to continue operating in the ordinary course of business. These motions are intended to ensure no disruption to services or relationships with customers, vendors, channel partners, or employees. Allied has received court approval and expects to continue paying employees and intends to pay vendors in full for all goods received and services provided after the filing date.
"I want to thank our employees for their continued focus and professionalism, and our customers, vendors, and partners for their loyalty and patience," Williams continued. "With this court approval, we will continue delivering critical connectivity services and supporting our customers as they transition to next-generation technology solutions and premium broadband services."
Allied expects to move through the Chapter 11 process in an efficient and orderly manner and will provide updates as appropriate.
