COCOCUT Releases Visual Alignment System for Nozzle-to-Laser Centering

COCOCUT Laser Parts announced the availability of its Visual Alignment System for fiber laser cutting machines, designed to help operators visually verify nozzle positioning and evaluate alignment deviation in a standardized, repeatable workflow.

In day-to-day production, small alignment drift can contribute to inconsistent piercing behavior, unstable cutting results, and extra setup time. COCOCUT's visual alignment approach provides a camera-based view and software readouts that support practical pre-checks during setup and maintenance, helping teams reduce trial-and-error and improve consistency across shifts.

What the software displays (operator-facing, practical)

The alignment software is designed around measurable on-screen indicators, including:

· Nozzle hole roundness ratio
· Pixel coordinates of the nozzle center point
· Pixel coordinates of the laser center point
· Deviation value between the laser center and nozzle center
· Language setting, multi-view display, and a function to enlarge the detected nozzle hole size for clearer inspection

Installation overview (shop-floor friendly)

The system installs below the cutting head nozzle:
· Place the beam alignment module under the nozzle, approximately 10 mm from the nozzle tip
· Connect the module to the PC via USB to Type-C cable (the blue USB 3.0 port is preferred)
· Connect the included USB WiFi6 network card and dongle to the PC

Included items (kit): Visual Beam Alignment Module (YM.QTZ05.0013), 5 m USB-to-Type-C data cable (XQ.WIRO9.0240), USB WiFi6 Network Card (X0.SUB06.0026), and dongle (YQ.KEYO1.0058).

Software setup and first use

For commissioning, the manual recommends:
· Turn off firewall
· Run installer as Administrator and proceed through installation; at the final step, install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 205-2022 ×64

To begin using the system:

· Open the software → Settings → select camera model → OK
· Click anywhere on the interface to open the camera

Mobile viewing (useful for quick checks)

The manual describes a workflow for viewing images on a phone:
· Enable the phone hotspot and connect the PC to the hotspot
· In the alignment software, click Network to view the network address
· Enter the address in the phone browser or scan the QR code to open the page and view the image

Safety and operating notes

COCOCUT emphasizes basic operational safety practices, including:
· Close the laser shutter before operation and do not emit the laser toward the camera
· Before alignment, adjust Z-axis to about 10 mm above the camera surface, then fine-tune for a clear nozzle tip view
· Before alignment, adjust focus to minimize the red light spot

The manual also includes laser safety guidance such as using appropriate protective eyewear.
