Dewender Foundation from Wachtendonk draws a positive balance for the year 2025

The Dewender Foundation, based in Wachtendonk, was established in 2012 by Norbert Dewender as an independent foundation under civil law. The foundation, whose board of directors consists exclusively of the founder himself, who works on a voluntary basis, directly promotes charitable purposes in the areas of education, upbringing, training, art and culture, sport and civic engagement. It is subject to supervision by the D?sseldorf district government and, with regard to its charitable status, to auditing by the Geldern tax office.

The Dewender Foundation can look back on a positive year in 2025. It provided 22,000 euros for the fulfillment of its statutory purposes. It supported the Freie Realschule We!tsicht in Wachtendonk and the newly founded support association of the St. Marien Catholic day care centre. The foundation also supported ten German scholarships: four at the RWTH Aachen, three at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld and M?nchengladbach and three at the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kamp-Lintfort and Kleve.

Since 2016, the Dewender Foundation has provided a total of 36 Germany Scholarships for students in the STEM subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology). In addition to academic and university success, social commitment is also one of the funding criteria. Applications are submitted directly via the respective universities.

In 2025, the foundation generated income from its assets of around 28,000 euros, which will be available for funding in 2026. The foundation is currently not accepting any new funding applications as it is working to capacity with its existing program. Following further endowments by the founder and asset reallocations, the foundation's assets now amount to around 1.2 million euros.
