Helplocal Hits the Milestone of 1000+ Active NGOs in India

The local NGO discovery platform now connects volunteers, donors, and communities with more than 1000 NGOs working at ground level.
Helplocal is an online platform that helps people find and support local NGOs in India. Recently, Helplocal reached the important milestone of listing 1000+ active NGOs across different cities of India. This will make it easier for volunteers, donors, and organizations to find and support NGOs that are doing real work on ground.
A lot of Indians want to contribute to social change but don't know where to start. Some aren't sure which NGOs are active locally or how they can contribute. With over a thousand NGOs now on its platform, Helplocal is trying to solve this problem by giving people all the information and resources on NGOs and self help groups.
"We feel that helping NGOs should not be confusing," said Varun Sharma, Founder, Helplocal India. "Many youngsters want to work with local NGOs and groups but don't know where to start. Through Helplocal, we want to make this process simple for everyone. Even small help can make a big difference when people work together. We started Helplocal five years ago with the same vision, and are still true to it"
In India, thousands of NGOs are working hard for education, health, women, environment, seniors, children, animals, and social welfare. However, their work often gets overshadowed by big nonprofits. Because of this, many local NGOs do not get enough community support and financial assistance. Helplocal was created to help reduce this gap between local NGOs and people who want to help.
Helplocal India has also started mobilizing the youth through virtual internship opportunities as well. The flexible program is helping youngsters talk about social change and issues they care about through content creation. Various college students and young professionals have joined Helplocal's free internship program to grow their skills and support social change.
"We are also expanding our internship program," said Ayush, Content Creator. "We work closely with students to create blogs on social issues and publish them on our platform with due credit. Every contributor works on 10 submissions and our team guides them on planning, research, and writing. We are also pushing efforts on social media to expand our reach"
