Cornerstone Holdings (UK & Canada), a multinational infrastructure investment group, today announced that it has entered into a Strategic Investment Partnership with OIM Wind Ltd., a pioneering offshore wind installation company registered in Malta and headquartered in Oslo, Norway. The partnership is aimed at accelerating the development and global deployment of next-generation offshore wind installation capabilities.

The offshore wind sector is undergoing rapid expansion as governments and utilities worldwide accelerate the energy transition and invest in large-scale renewable infrastructure. Increasing turbine sizes and foundation weights are driving demand for advanced installation vessels capable of handling next-generation offshore wind projects efficiently and safely.
Through this partnership, OIM Wind gains access to Cornerstone Holdings' financial strength, global reach, and institutional governance framework, enabling the company to scale operations, expand into new markets, and fast-track delivery of its flagship offshore wind installation vessel.
Project and Investment Overview
At the center of the partnership is the FO-146WIU, a next-generation Wind Installation Unit (WIU) developed by OIM Wind in collaboration with world-renowned jack-up rig designers Friede & Goldman Ltd. The FO-146WIU represents a significant technological advancement in offshore wind installation.
The FO-146WIU is designed to transport and install XXL monopile and jacket foundations exceeding 3,000 metric tons and to handle the latest generation of large-scale wind turbine generators. The project benefits from a secured newbuild slot at Drydocks World - Dubai and is supported by established operational and technical partnerships with OSM Thome AS of Norway and Fairwind A/S of Denmark.
Under the terms of the partnership, Cornerstone Holdings will provide capital investment of up to USD 650 million for the construction of the FO-146WIU, with the potential to extend additional operating and working capital facilities as required. Cornerstone will also participate at the equity and governance level, providing long-term strategic oversight and project stewardship.

The partnership positions OIM Wind to become a global leader in offshore wind installation across Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and emerging renewable energy markets.
