MOFAYA Doc Breaks New Ground by Blending Film, Blockchain, and Social Impact

Feature documentary partners with Playing For Change Foundation and BAFTA-winning UK animation studio as it enters post-production

Los Angeles, CA - MOFAYA, a feature-length documentary currently in post-production, is redefining how films are financed and how stories create lasting real-world impact. Directed by filmmaker Jesse Bernstein, MOFAYA tells the remarkable true story of Mermans "Mofaya" Mosengo, a Congolese musician who fled Central Africa with nothing but his guitar-using music as his passport to survival, connection, and purpose.

Beyond its powerful narrative, MOFAYA is making history as the first feature documentary to launch an NFT collection as a core part of its creative and impact strategy, blending film, art, blockchain technology, and social good. Proceeds from the NFT collection help fund the completion of the film while supporting the creation of a music school in the Congo, offering young people access to instruments, education, and mentorship.

A Global Creative Collaboration
To bring Mofaya's inner world and memories to life, the film partners with Second Home Studios (UK), a BAFTA-winning stop-motion animation team. Their handcrafted animation sequences visualize moments that could never be filmed-childhood, displacement, and emotional memory-expanding the cinematic language of documentary storytelling.
The project is also partnered with the Playing For Change Foundation, a globally respected organization that uses music education to create sustainable social change. Together, the team is working to ensure that the film's impact extends far beyond the screen through the development of a music school in Mofaya's homeland.

Post-Production & Call to Participate
MOFAYA is currently in post-production, with editing, sound design, animation, and finishing underway. As the project approaches completion, supporters, collectors, and institutions are invited to engage with the film through its innovative NFT collection and broader impact campaign.
