ScaleFibre Appointed Exclusive Authorised Distributor for FiberFox Fusion Splicers in Australia
ScaleFibre has been appointed the authorised distributor for FiberFox fusion splicers in Australia, extending its product offering beyond optical fibre connectivity systems into precision fusion splicing and termination equipment. The partnership brings FiberFox's globally recognised splicing technology to Australian network builders, carriers, and contractors through ScaleFibre's local channel. FiberFox systems are designed for for field reliability, precision alignment, and repeatable optical performance across both single-fibre and ribbon applications, making them ideal companions to ScaleFibre's high-performance cable and connector portfolio.
"Our appointment as the official FiberFox distributor rounds out our ecosystem," said Daniel Rose, CEO of ScaleFibre. "FiberFox's splicer range is well aligned with our high quality range of products."
FiberFox's range includes compact, core-alignment fusion splicers such as the Mini 5C+ Premium, Mini 4S+, and Mini 12R+. The range is well suited to ScaleFibre's optical fibre cable range including both mini loose tube and SmartRIBBONTM range of ribbon cables.
The Mini 5C+ Premium sits at the top of the lineup, incorporating AOCAT (Automatic Optical Core Analysis and Tracking), FiberFox's proprietary real-time core-alignment system that analyses both X and Y axes to achieve exceptionally low splice loss. AOCAT continuously monitors core geometry through the fusion arc, adjusting alignment dynamically to minimise optical loss. The unit features a rugged housing, 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen, and performs a full splice in four seconds with a heat cycle as short as five seconds.
The Mini 4S+ is FiberFox's cost-effective active-alignment splicer designed for everyday single-fibre work, particularly FTTH, drop, and access deployments where speed, portability, and reliability matter most. It features FiberFox's DAA (Digitalized Active Alignment) technology, providing accurate X/Y core positioning without the added cost or complexity of the AOCAT system used in the Mini 5C+ Premium.
The Mini 12R+ is FiberFox's ribbon fusion splicer, designed for both flat matrix and intermittently bonded ribbon deployments in metro, transport, and hyperscale environments. It uses a profile alignment technique with precise arc control across all twelve fibres. A 15-second splice cycle and 20-second heat cycle allow rapid processing of fibre ribbons, with a streamlined workflow.
ScaleFibre provides local sales, technical support, and servicing for FiberFox products, with local inventory, genuine parts, and short turnaround times. This removes the delays and freight costs of overseas servicing while maintaining manufacturer-level compliance.
The appointment reinforces ScaleFibre's position as a manufacturer and technology integrator supporting the full lifecycle of optical network deployment, from cable design and assembly to field splicing, testing, and maintenance. Under the current agreement, ScaleFibre's distribution of FiberFox splicers is limited exclusively to Australia.

Fiber splicing is the technique of reunifying two fibers permanently. Unlike fiber connectors which are often designed on cross-connect or patch panels for simple reconfiguration. There are two forms of fiber splicing mechanical splicing and fusion splicing. Mechanical splicing does not fuse two optical fibers next to each other physically, but instead, two fibers are held in a sleeve with the mechanical method. In Fusion splicer is a device which…
