AthleticFreedom Reaches Major Milestone: 300 Athletes Transition to Remote Sales Careers

Two athletes are playing soccer on a professional field. One player in a black-and-green kit is defending, while the other in a white-and-blue kit is controlling the ball. The background shows a stadium environment with blurred signage.
SYDNEY, Australia - AthleticFreedom Consulting announced today it has successfully trained and placed its 300th athlete into online appointment-setting positions, marking a significant milestone for the sales training and recruitment company founded in 2024.
The achievement comes less than two years after founder Leon Johnsson launched the specialized program designed to help current and former athletes build remote income streams without sacrificing their athletic pursuits. The company focuses exclusively on teaching appointment-setting skills to athletes aged 20 to 25, primarily in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
"When I was chasing my professional football dreams, I had to work 12-hour days washing dishes just to pay the bills," said Johnsson, a former professional footballer. "It drained the time, energy and focus I needed for my sport. We created AthleticFreedom so other athletes never have to make that choice."
The company's training program leverages athletes' inherent competitive drive, discipline and work ethic, translating these qualities into sales performance. AthleticFreedom reports that its network of trained appointment setters has been placed across more than 100 different industries and has collectively generated over $10 million in revenue for client businesses.
Among the company's notable success stories is professional footballer Wataru Kamijo, who became AthleticFreedom's first professional athlete client and reportedly earned $5,400 in his first month. The program has since worked with 15 professional athletes and hundreds of current and former competitors across various sports including football, rugby and athletics.
"Athletes don't aim for average, they've been trained their entire lives to win and dominate," Johnsson explained. "Once we teach them sales skills and connect them with businesses that need appointment setters, they become unstoppable."
AthleticFreedom operates as both a training academy and recruitment agency, providing participants with sales frameworks, scripts, coaching and direct connections to businesses seeking appointment-setting professionals. The model addresses a growing demand in the remote work economy while solving a persistent challenge for athletes who need flexible income sources.
The 300-athlete milestone represents significant growth from the company's early days, when it helped just 10 athletes in its first three months of operation. Word-of-mouth referrals and athlete networks have driven expansion across three continents.
Looking ahead, AthleticFreedom plans to continue expanding its network of business partnerships and athlete placements while maintaining its focus on quality training and successful outcomes for participants.
