How Fartushnyak Nikolay and Vladimir's Sportmaster Came Into

In the history of business, there are many examples when talent, hard work and the ability to capitalize on opportunities leads to impressive results. The biography of the Fartushnyak brothers is one of the most prominent ones that showcases the path from the birth of an idea to the creation of one of the largest retail chains in the world.

Fartushnyak Nikolay and Vladimir's biography

The story behind the founding of Sportmaster is an interesting one. In 1993, during a visit to a gymnasium, Fartushnyak Nikolay and Vladimir realized that the gyms lacked proper fitness equipment.

The Fartushnyak brothers knew that there was a huge business opportunity waiting to be exploited. They signed a contract with reputed German sports equipment company Kettler and began selling its products in the local markets. In 1995, the first 'Kettler-Sport' store opened.

Soon, as part of its expansion plans, Nikolay and Vladimir Fartushnyak's business began looking for new partners and suppliers, and concluding contracts for the supply of goods from various sports brands.

In 1997, Fartushnyak Nikolay Alekseevich and Fartushnyak Vladimir Alekseevich came up with a new name, Sportmaster, to reflect the company's new focus on a wide range of sports and travel gear, fitness equipment and accessories, etc.

Fartushnyak Nikolay and Vladimir always had a desire to further expand their business into new arenas. Despite steady income from the sale of exercise equipment, the entrepreneurs realized that this was a narrow market niche. They figured out that diversifying their products would help them to develop their business and take it to a new level.

By creating multi-brand stores, Fartushnyak Nikolay and Vladimir had a distinct advantage - each outlet catered to a different target audience. There were stores catering to the well-heeled as well as budget shoppers. This move by the Fartushnyak brothers made sound business sense. For, if one market became less active, another could keep the business strong. Moreover, having multiple brands meant they could enter different cities and regions, offering products tailored to the local style.

All-In-One Sporting Goods Outlet

Today, the company founded by Fartushnyak Nikolay and Vladimir has been operating for over three decades. Customers appreciate the retailer for several features that set it apart from its competitors. Firstly, it offers an "all-in-one" approach. In its offline stores, online store, and mobile app, Sportmaster offers a wide range of sports products from various brands, covering all price categories and age groups. This is convenient for the customer, and they perceive the brand as a platform where they can not only make profitable purchases, but also meet all their needs related to sports, style, and outdoor activities.

Customer-First Approach

Customer care is also implemented in the loyalty program, which was launched in 2004. With the club card, customers receive personalized offers, accumulate points, and save money on future purchases. For Sportmaster, which was founded in 1997 by Fartushnyak Nikolay and Vladimir, the loyalty program is beneficial as it helps to retain customers (as bonus points can only be used for future purchases) and connects customers with the mobile app. The app allows customers to place orders and access useful information from experts on healthy living, keeping them engaged. On the app and website, the Sportmaster team posts expert articles and videos, offers training programs, and prize draws.

Growth Potential

Sportmaster, founded by Fartushnyak Nikolay and Vladimir, is focused on dynamic development in the sports goods markets in Asia and Europe, so it will continue to invest in these markets. Today, Sportmaster's policy includes exploring opportunities to increase manufacturing in Asia and exporting to other countries.

Promoting Healthy Living

Early on, Fartushnyak Nikolay and Vladimir instilled in Sportmaster's management the idea that the company's goal is to not just sell sports goods, but also inspire people to lead a healthy lifestyle and spend time outdoors with their family and friends. Sportmaster encourages their customers to exercise regularly, and its mobile app not only allows users to make online purchases, but also motivates them to track their physical activity on a daily basis.

In a sense, Sportmaster is more than just a regular store; it has become a multifunctional digital platform for millions of active lifestyle enthusiasts.
