Free 10-minute psychiatrist consults at SavantCare help adults test the fit, ask questions, and decide steps with no pressure.

New program gives adults in California and Texas a no-pressure way to speak with a psychiatrist, ask questions and decide whether to book a full appointment.

[California] - [November 19, 2025] -

SavantCare, a mental health clinic that provides psychiatric care via secure online visits, has introduced a free 10-minute consult so new patients can speak directly with a psychiatrist before booking a full appointment.

The brief 'clarity call' is designed for people who are unsure whether they need psychiatric treatment, feel nervous about starting medication or want to see if a particular doctor is the right fit.

A lot of people are one good conversation away from getting help but they're scared to take that first step" said Dr. Ellen Machikawa, psychiatrist at SavantCare. This 10-minute call gives them a safe, no-pressure space to ask questions, share a bit of what's going on and see if working together feels comfortable.

How the 10-Minute Consult Works

The new consult is available to adult new patients in California and Texas and is conducted by phone or secure video.

During the call, patients can:

Briefly describe what they're struggling with - such as anxiety, low mood, stress, sleep problems or life changes.

Ask questions about treatment options - like therapy, lifestyle changes or medication in general.

Decide on next steps - including whether to schedule a complete psychiatric evaluation with SavantCare.

The 10-minute consult is not a full psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis or medication management visit. Instead, it is meant to help people decide if and how they'd like to move forward.

We know that trust is everything in mental health, said Kehinde Adedayo, PMHNP at SavantCare. By offering a short introductory conversation, we remove some of the fear and uncertainty and give people more control over their care.

Designed for People Who Are Hesitant, Busy or Unsure

SavantCare created the program after seeing how many adults delay getting help because they:

1. I'm not sure whether they really need a psychiatrist

2. Worry that they will be pushed into medication immediately.

3. Feel overwhelmed by long waitlists or complicated intake processes.

4. Have tried therapy before and aren't sure what psychiatry adds

The free 10-minute consult aims to lower that barrier.

We want to make it as easy as possible for someone to say, Let me talk to a psychiatrist once and see how it feels. If it's a good fit, wonderful - we'll help them book a full appointment. If not, they still walk away with a bit more clarity and support.
