Monnett - Social Media Made for Humans

Monnett - Social Media Made for Humans

LUXEMBOURG, EUROPE - Monnett, the new social media network made in Europe to compete with Big Tech monopolies is growing, since launching its alpha version a month ago.

Early adopters have joined from all over the world, with the majority of people coming from Benelux, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, other European countries and the United States.

Monnett opened its doors to rebuild social media around human to human connection, privacy, and transparency, as more people are searching for "Instagram alternatives". The team is happy to report that more than 10,000 people have experienced the service in the last 2 weeks.

This week Monnett's team was present in Lisbon for the Web Summit where it was selected among thousands of start-ups to figure amongst the 100 finalists in the headline PITCH Competition.

Christos Floros, took stage at Web Summit sharing with the audience that Big Tech social had broken the promise of connecting us, instead, building tools that weaponise our attention. Monnett wants to restore faith in that promise.
The feedback from the community of early adopters has been nothing but supportive of what the social network is trying to achieve:

"Felt again joy of sharing posts and stories with friends, feels real, hope the app will keep improving and growing." reads a review on the App Store.

"I hope this platform grows big!! There's a touch of realness as I scroll through the feed. Love that!" says one person.

"I really hope you make it big! The important stuff is availability, privacy and sustainability." says another.

The social network gives people a familiar social and messaging interface while giving control over what people see in their feeds, to each individual person. Monnett also doesn't collect advanced behavioral data for advertising, and rejects AI slop.

"Our feeds should belong to us," says Filip Gaman, Chief Product Officer at Monnett "Not to algorithms. Not to AI slop. And not to surveillance systems."

A European Alternative

Earlier this year, the company, Monnet Social S.A., based in Luxembourg, raised €655,000 in pre-seed funding from European angel investors, including senior executives at Microsoft.

The project, announced in March 2025, attracted enormous grassroots interest with 36,000 people registering for early access and a single email sent to that waitlist since launch.
Built in Luxembourg, at the heart of Europe, a hub of neutrality and privacy, Monnett embodies a new European confidence: that the continent can build its own platforms reflecting its cultural and democratic values, its diversity and openness.

In the last month Monnett was chosen as a finalist for the Young Entrepreneurs Competition in Luxembourg, a finalist to pitch at Web Summit in Lisbon and was selected for Luxembourg City's Incubator.

Join the Future of Social Media

Monnett is available for download from App Store and Google Play Store.

People are invited to join to escape the algorithm at https://monnett.social.

Early access (alpha) is running live as people continue to sign up for the service and the company works together with early adopters to continue improving the interface and experience of people on the platform, aiming for a January 2026 full release.
