Timing Pulley Clamping Methods

The A.P. Lock Type utilizes a taper-ring structure that applies even pressure when the screws are properly fastened. The inner surface contracts inward to tighten the shaft, while the outer surface expands outward to clamp the timing pulley securely. This design provides a strong, self-locking force that eliminates the need for additional keyways or fastening components. It also features a self-centering function, ensuring perfect alignment and high torque transmission.

The Taper Bushing Type works in a similar way, using a tapered interface that tightens the shaft when the screws are fastened. This method offers a strong clamping force without the need for a keyway and allows for quick and easy installation or removal. It is a practical solution for general industrial applications where reliable performance and simple assembly are essential.

The Side-Clamp Type uses vertically fastened screws that press against the hub, causing the inner surface to shrink inward and securely tighten the shaft. This method provides an easy and convenient installation process, making it suitable for applications that require frequent adjustments or compact designs.

The Idler Type features a built-in ball bearing within the inner bore of the timing pulley. This configuration allows the pulley to function as an idler, commonly used to adjust timing belt tension, change belt direction, or serve as a driven pulley. The integrated bearing enables smooth, low-friction rotation, ensuring consistent performance and extended service life.
